I have Fibromyalgia. I feel like it is robbing me of my life. The pain and burning in my feet is horrible. I have a lot of inflamation and the fatigue is making it such a struggle to go to work every morning. Does anyone have any tips on how to manage this disease? I have just started recently getting headaches. I was on a lot of meds but decided to quit them.

Hi Bana welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.

I'm sorry you are struggling so much my friend, it must be very difficult if you are not taking any medication. Can I ask you why you came off them all ? Have you been refered to a pain clinic at all ? This could be useful for you because they have more holistic therapies to help you.

Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.

Thanks for all the info. I came off my meds because I did not see a significant improvement. I was on Gabapentin, Amitriptylin and Effexor and Tramadol prn. I still take the Tramadol.

Hi Bana

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance.

I am so genuinely sorry to read of how you are suffering and struggling my friend. When my pain becomes too much for me I tend to use a TENS Machine which I find quite useful.

Also, if you just stop taking your medications then you can suffer from withdrawal and side effects. It is always best to consult with your doctor prior to stopping them.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Thank you for your info. It's nice to know that there is someone that actually cares. I have found that people really don't understand and are not very compassionate.

Its worth asking for referral to pain management.

What pain meds have been tried? Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Gabapentin, Pregablin are usually the first options.

Have you been referred to Physio? Hydrotherapy can be really helpful.

Self help tips:

Muscle stretching, massage, osteopath or chiropractic, High dose magnesium, heat pads, Linnex heat stick (available on the Internet, use small amount only. I have found this to be a life saver!)

Hope you get some relief!

Hallo, don't usually leave any comments, but I wanted to tell you what might help you with the pain/burning with your feet. I had same thing and spoke with my doctor and she gave me some cream called piroxicam - feldene gel , and it is really good, trying to remember what name of condition is called ?? But can't, sorry, so ask your doctor, or speak to pharmacist , hope this will help, as it's a awful pain

I find gently massaging my feet and putting something like Musselflex and freeze gel mixed helps with the burning sensation. I think the headaches are caused by the way we tense ourselves up because if the unremitting pain so sometimes relaxation exercises can help. If you have a bath try soaking in warm water with several handfuls of Epsom salts added as it can really help.x
