Alternative medicine : I have so many... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Alternative medicine
Hi Duchess. I go for regular massages or if body to sore/sensitive I have reflexology. I also use Epsom salts and essential oils in bath, also Bowen therapy. All the best
Hi Duchess121
Can i recommend speaking to yoir GP about this as i am not medically trained to now for sure.
They may be helpful information on the mother site.
Good luck my friend
:)
Not sure if it would interact with any of your medical problems, but Juicing is amazing. Have you seen, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead? It is a great documentary. The website associated with the documentary has lots of good recipes and tips. Juicing rushes your body with nutrition. People have healed lots of different issues with juicing.
Apple Cider Vinegar with mother drinks. I won't go without them. It had multiple benefits. 15ml raw honey 15 ml ACV with mother Half a lemon and about 8oz of water. I drink it every morning and it has kept me functional.
I get regular massages and foam roll
Stretching and range of motion exercises
Spirulina
Wheat grass tablets
Fish oil
Magnesium Chloride oil diluted with distilled water
Not sure what all you are dealing with, I hope some of this could help. Acv and juicing are both help your body on multiple levels.
As always, just because something helps one of us doesn't mean it will work for everyone, we are all different.
I hope you find some things to help you
Take care ××
Hi I have tried lots of things but nothing works .I even went to Chinese herbal and he told me he could not change my health .So I have lots of conditions too and majority are pain led . As I said to someone else my best too in distraction I'm a crafter and on the odd time when I am not to exhausted I will craft .find your passion and do it ,I promise you it helps .x
Thank you all for your input and it does Seem to be different for everyone but what I do see is that everyone helps each other xx
Your welcome and I suppose we all feel pain diffently to , because I have had it so long I don't think I cope well with pain although hub says I do x
Have you tried acupuncture specifically with someone who is also qualified in Chinese medicine. I was at my wit's end but have found it has helped with energy levels and pain. I also have a very understanding practitioner who knows more about fibro than any GP I have seen. He has also advised on diet and supplements. Hydrothereapy can also help.
Some supplements and herbs can actually clash with existing medication so it is always worth passing it by your GP first. Sometimes just adding a good multivitamin can help fending off infections which don't help fibro. Good luck with finding something that helps.x
Hi Hidden
From my personal experience, a couple of the things that I find useful are my physio, which is very gentle movement exercises and my TENS Machine which helps alleviate my pain.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
I also find my tens machine good as well x
Good luck my friend x
Ken ,I have a tens hospital quality now can you use yours on your legs ,because I can't it really irritates all the nerve endings and puts me into a RLS really quickly ,but everywhere else is fine ..I would be very interested to hear if you can . Hope you're having a good day xx😇
I got mine from Lloyd pharmacy £11.99 and I can use it on my legs without triggering rls, but I do find my hayfever tablets do cause rls as a side effect so I have changed to different ones x
I think because I have had fibro since a little girl my nerve endings are on high alert ,if I even sit wrongly for me I'm in RLS and really bad pain I'm glad it works for you .I can use it on lower back and shoulders ..I can't take antidepressants because it affects me so bad with RLS .I think a lot of tablets affect it .Personally wish they had a tablet that would stop it .xx
Hi Matrix my friend, I use mine on my upper legs without any problems. I hope that you are well my friend x
Hi Ken much like you I imagine trying to keep on the bike , metaphorical speaking you understand..I can't stand it on my legs anywhere I wish I could though .I did the most stupid thing a few years ago ,I put it on my temples can you imagine ,it was so painful .
.I was so glad David was there because he yanked the wires off because I couldn't ,I don't know when I thought that would be a good idea .xx😇
There are very small two sensor TENS for migraines that are much better for areas where you cannot stand it, maybe worth a try? x
I think one of my friends has one like that and I know that mine is much stronger because she borrowed it . I'm in bed trying without any chance to sleep . It's so bad for the heart to not sleep .xx😇
I genuinely hope that you do manage to get some sleep my friend x
Well it's 4-35 and I have not managed it yet Ken ,I don't know how I cope qreally xx
I am so truly sorry that sleep is evading you again my friend. I truly hope that you can manage some sleep at some point! x
No sleep today Ken still awake .Did you manage any . I have been up and down so often tonight.I wanted to get o ut today and I will but do t know how long for .Wishing you a lovely day Ken .xx😇
I am so truly sorry that you did not manage any sleep my friend, and I sincerely hope that you get a good sleep tonight. I managed to get about 3 1/2 hours before the carer came so not too bad thanks. Please take care of yourself x
Hi Ken glad you got a little sleep ,but honestly although I would be happy it's not enough is it .I slept sat night but it was tablet induced because I was so desperate and it leaves me horrible next day roast dinner was a trial because I was all over the place but we managed .Keep your chin up my friend .xx😇
I try to still to healthy lifestyle including juicing. Lots of coconut oil, turmeric and ginger for inflammation. Magnesium salts for the bath. You can also make up your own magnesium oil with those and spray on areas for relief and before bed. Lots of essential oils for pain relief (warming ginger and black pepper mixed into a carrier oil) for sore muscles. Plenty of herbal tea during the day. Exercise (walking is great) and swimming if you can bear the cold. Heat lavender bag. Etc. Xx
Have you actually made the magnesium oil I would be interested to know if it's as good and also is epsom salts the same as magnesium .The lady at chemist said she thought it was .Also how to make it xx
Epson salt is a different form of magnesium than magnesium chloride oil.
Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate (i believe, can't find a box here to double check. )
From my understanding magnesium chloride is easier for our body to absorb.
To make the oil, mix magnesium chloride flakes with distilled water. Pretty simple.
hope that clears up the questions.
Have a great day×
I've not made any yet but have heard good reviews although if you make it and it stings for a long period, just add extra distilled water to bring it down a bit. If you type how to make magnesium oil into "Pinterest" app, there are lots of easy recipes for it!! So much cheaper than buying a branded one too, plus you can add a nice essential oil of your choice!! Good luck xx
I know it's got to be cheaper than what I'm paying £12.99 for 100 ml .Thanks for answering me .Have a good day .xx
