Fibromyalgia flare up after general anesthetic

Hi all, been diagnosed for 6 years and have been doing really well up until 2 weeks ago. Had a general for a minor op and the pain has been ridiculous ever since. All my usual tricks (gluten free, meditation, heat pad and amitrptyline) aren't helping at all. If I stop to think about it I just burst into tears. I've never had a flare up this bad. Any suggestions most appreciated

Hi, you've had a GA so I would advise you to get your Vitamin B12 levels checked. Nitrous oxide can wipe out B12, it might be why you aren't feeling too good.

Thanks for this link. A very interesting article and worth bearing in mind when anyone with Fibro needs surgery.

Hi Suebinks38

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance.

I am so genuinely sorry to read of how you are feeling and it could be as Sewnsew has suggested that you need your vitamin B12 levels testing? Or that you need your medication tweaking? Either way, I would talk to your doctor about what is happening for you.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Thank you so much, that's really helpful. I will definitely try that out, didn't even think about that as a consequence of GARDEN.
