Hello and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get help, support, advice and understanding.

Have you seen our Mother Site fmauk.org ? Here you will find a wealth of information including guides and links.

Do you have a diagnosis of fibro? Sometimes we suffer with a faulty body thermostat and this could be what you are describing. Unfortunately I cannot offer any medical guidance as I am not qualified so I do suggest you see your GP.

I experienced much the same as you at about the same age, it could be you are perimenopusal. Do you know how old your mum was when she started the change as that can give a good indication?

I am afraid I cannot answer you on the HRT as that is a matter for your doctor as there are other variables to take into account like clotting factors, if you smoke etc.

I have heard changing to soya milk can help though.

I advise you to lock your post as it can be seen throughout the internet including social media. Locking also means replies are locked too.

For simple instructions just follow BlueMermaid3 post on Pinned Posts, to the right of your screen or ask any Admin to do it for you.

I do hope we will see you around the forum.

Hi, I'm 45 and before I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and other things last year, I was basically told by an uncaring female doctor that it was just probably the menopause! She just snapped at me...well go and get a blood test if it makes you feel any better! I've had numerous blood tests since and not one of them has ever come back as me even being perimenopause! Even the physio started to go down this route of its just my age and do I sweat a lot at night! I was quick to correct him that he was wrong! Why are all doctors quick to point at the menopause as being the reason for most illnesses. Has your doctor done a test for this as it will tell you if you are?

Wishing you all the best

Hiya, I have fibro and been diagnosed peri menopause too. Your symptoms sound familiar, except, I do miss some months of my period, but at the moment, back to every month. Because it's not full menopause I think it will come and go. I am 43, and got diagnosed at 42. I'm not taking hrt, already taking enough tablets. When suffering I take B vitamins, magnesium and evening primrose oil. You can buy vitamins just for menopause, I buy tesco own brand on 3for2. Personally, and this is just me, I would wait off on HRT till you really need it. But speak to your doctor or practice nurse, ask them to explain everything to you
