i had a hernia opperation and my ankle hurt 10 weeks after then when on holiday my knee started clunking and cracking. since then ive had pains in my shoulder and feet whent red and hot with little lumps formed in my fingers like atheritus i can bend and grip with my fingers but i get these aches and pains all over my body which is causing me conserns. sl;eep i wake up sweating like mad. Can this be fibro it feels like my ankle wants to snap when im walking. i go in for a look in my knee in 2 weeks and im a bit at my wits ends with this thing when i get more pain in my ankle when walking and feel like i got ONE LEG LONGER THAN THE OTHER people keep saying compensating but i dont know with all these aches and pains all over my body.
anyone on here shed any light on this regards john

Hi minka welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.
it takes quite a long time to diagnose Fibro John because everything else has to be eliminated first, the reason being, fibromyalgia symptoms mimic the symptoms of so many other conditions like, RA Lupus, Limes Disease etc. Some people go yrs without a definite diagnoses, So although your symptoms do sound a lot like Fibro, it could be lots of other things. Have you spoken to your doctor about your concerns ?

John I would suggest you get some blood tests done to eliminate other disorders first, fibro takes a long time and a process of elimination to diagnose, are you taking any pain relief or anti inflammatory pills to help with this pain?
all ive been taking is anti botics and paracetomol caz they have done all my bloods and i go for pre op look in knee next friday with opperation on the 28 march which im not looking forward to ive even checked my own ph urine values and they are 6 and later in day 7 so that normal little lumps still their on fingers but dont give a problem my main conserns is that ankle on worst knee and the big toe has heeled up but still giving me a bit of jip this morning as ive been pushing hard on it the knee still feels like atheritus and the ankle but i seem to be getting more pain out the ankle when walking on it it want to give
Now wheter that is due to the knee or not i dont know but the knee man said thing dont go upward in pain they go down But me i think it all started with that ankle then to knee crunching and cracking then to little jumps in hand then to the gums of my teeth Its like a complete baffle But 5 years ago i had nearly the same think only pulled it back to not bad but could not run on knee speed walk yes And regular 4 mile walks in week but not run on it.
It seems to me i whent in for that hernia opperation iether caught somthing or my immune system decided to attack me again, But it does feel like atheritus now in places . But when you talk to the doctors they dont take any notice of what you are saying. I would gess going in that knee because the ankle is not stable on inside im going to have some more big problem. I can get up stairs down stairs minimum problem BUT WHEN I WALK ON THE FLAT I CAANT GET WEIGHT OVER TO THE BAD LEG NO MATER HOW I TRY. tHANKS FOR TAKING THETIME TO REPLY

I agree completely with Hidden and Janet28 as it is important to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation prior to a Fibro diagnosis. It could be that you do have Fibro but you could also have arthritis and other things wrong as well?
