Hello😊,

I was wondering if any of you might have a similar health history... I suffered with endometriosis for 10 years after having my daughter. In 1993 had full hysterectomy. In 1996 I was dign. with Hoshimoto's. In 2008 I was diog. with Fybromialgia. In 2015 I was diog. With Hemoplegic Mygraines. I have seen floaters and had Mygraines since childhood.

Hi, I just joined this community as I believe I may have Fibromyalgia. I've had Endo for years and actually had surgery last year for it. I have also had migraines since I was about 5 years old. How did you get diagnosed with Fibro?

Hello Mommy2

It can take years and years to get a definitive diagnosis of Fibromyalgia.

Due to the fact that there are many other conditions with similar symptoms, some of which are MS, Lupus and Lyme Disease it is incredibly important that these are eliminated first.

Some of our members have Endometriosis but I wouldn't say that it is a common symptom.

Migraines are something that many of us get but I wouldn't say that there is a direct link.

Rheumatologists are the Consultants that specialise in diagnosing Fibromyalgia.

Are you in the US or the UK out of interest?

Hi, I am in the US. I was tested a few weeks ago for Lyme and Celiac and both were negative. I just joined this group and was planning to post about my symptoms and concerns. I have an appointment with a Rheumatologist coming up. I just wanted to gain as much knowledge as I could before walking into the office.

Thanks!

Hello Bridallady

Welcome to the forum :)

I haven't personally had the same history as you and can't say that I think it is a common one for Fibromyalgia. However, that is just a personal opinion.

You may find it of interest to look at our mother site. You'll find a full list of the most common symptoms of Fibromyalgia on there fmauk.org

I was just wondering whether you are trying to work out what the catalyst was for your Fibromyalgia or whether you are looking for people with the exact same symptoms.

I very much hope that you enjoy being part of the forum. I have had Fibro & ME for 36 years and have learned more from this forum than I ever have from any doctor or consultant.

We are so lucky to have an amazing bunch of members here and we all do our best to support and care for each other.

Wishing you much peace

Hello Bluemermaid3

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am thankful to be part of such a warm supportive group. 😊 What a blessing!

Regarding a catalyst for my Fybromialgia. My doctors have warned me that stress is my trigger. They tell me I need to remove myself from stress. I have been through stress management and cognitive therapy. I am unable to remove the stress around me so I have learned to set boundaries, and not feel guilty in taking time for selfcare. Excersize is challenging, but eatting healthy is easy.

I was just wondering if there is somehow a connection regarding Fybromialgia...

Thank you for your kind responce😊

I am excited to be part of this forum.

Take good care!

Thank you

Hi Bridal lady :) Hope the below helps :

I had endometriosis from age of 28 now in 50's. Docs declined a hysterectomy request, even tho I had 4 children and was bleeding excessively for 13 days and in such pain. I had injections to bring on early menopause, which worked for a while but temporally, so ended up having these injections on 3 occasions over 10 years, had womb burnt (thermometer choice) and luckily last lot of injections treatment worked. I have enlarged thyroid but seemingly works ok, and had migraine since very young probably earliest I remember was aged 7 causing flashing, Floaters and sick. Also have ibs, stomach ulcers, and usual fibromyalgia symptoms.

Have fibromyalgia diagnosis since 2013 but symptoms before this. Not sure if all this directly linked to fibromyalgia but a lot of people with fibromyalgia seem to have had similar.

Hi Carol789,

Thank you for your response😊

Wow... Regarding doctors declining doing your hysterectomy... I am so sorry for the unnecessary suffering that caused you!!!Endometriosis is so very painful!!!

I am in the US so my husband insurance covered the majority of the cost. I was the one who decided enough is enough, and so I had it done. I have never regretted it except I have a feeling it started a dominos effect within my body which has led me to where I am today. I have a rather large list of problems as do most. I have a Saratonin imbalance and ADHD on top of everything else. My mind feels like a huge cloud of fog. Were you diognosed with hemoplegic mygraines regarding your floaters and other symptoms? I would love to find some natural ways to treat all that we deal with!

Well, doctors just say I have migraine, never been referred to specialist. When I was young, doctors wanted my mum to take me for brain scan, but, she had a dread of hospitals and didn't take me. I was also supposed to have tonsils out around the same time and never did. Ended up having them out at 32, not nice.

Every time I had migration, mum would peel me an orange to eat, which would be followed by very sugary milky coffee. This promptly made me very sick but did get rid of migraine somehow.

I now don't like oranges, sugar or milky coffees, but still get headaches and migraine.

I remember I started a new job, think it was week 3. Had start of headache and I can tell when it's going to turn ok nto migraine. I asked if I could go home and was advised to wait it out and see if it got better. Ended up not quite making it to toilet to be sick, projectile vomiting everywhere. Calmed the migraine, but really unpleasant cleaning it all and soooooooo embarrassing 😩.

I hope someone on the forum has some useful ideas which they find helpful 😀 . All the best x

Carol
