Hello shellyB79

Welcome to the forum :)

As you are newly diagnosed my best personal advice to you would be to take some time out (in your head) to try to come to terms with having a long term condition.

Acceptance can be incredibly hard. I was diagnosed with Fibro & ME 36 years ago and if I am honest I still haven't really accepted it.

Learn as much as you possibly can about Fibro. If you have a look at our mother site you'll find lots of information about Fibro on there fmauk.org

We do recommend that you lock your posts. I will pop back and give you a link to an easy to follow guide on how to lock your posts. **

We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people on the forum. Ask anything you want to and we will do our best to help and support you.

Please let me know if you need any help navigating the forum.

Wishing you much peace

Hello shellyB79 and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can find advice, understanding, help and support, along with a chuckle or two to brighten the day.

Have you seen our Mother Site fmauk.org ? Here you will find a wealth of information about all things fibro, including guides and links.

So sorry you have a diagnosis of fibro but in some ways it is a relief to be able to put a name to the symptoms. Many members here have taken 8 years or more before finally receiving their diagnosis.

It does feel soul destroying when you look back to when you were able to achieve so much and now it takes all your energy just to get through the day. You are definitely not alone here.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

Kay

Hi there!! No you are for sure not alone. It's nice to know In a weird way that other feel the way you do! How are you treating your fibro? Have you had much relief? Also what did the doctors assume was wrong with you till you got your diagnosis? Im trying my hardest to get to the gym as excercise is meant to help. I've done my induction 2 weeks ago but finding a day that's relatively pain free to go is no easy task! I hope you are doing well today!

Hi there Mitchell19898.

My gp referred me to my rhumatologistafter I complained of wrist&thumb pain (i was working as a cleaner, cook, waitress, barmaid lol jack of all trades) In the beginning rhumatologist said it was de Quverings tendonitise (please excuse my spelling) treatment was cortical injection which didn't help then slowly things started getting worse over a year I had to have emergency surgery to have my gallbladder out then my dad got dignosed with cancer of the esophagus & became very sick fast so I quit all my jobs to care for him for a very short 6months until he passed away. sorry rambled on there. X & at moment am on painkiller tranadol & I see my rhumatologist on the 30th so hoping to get a treatment plan in place then x
