Just wondering if anyone else's doctor has perscribed them propranolol ⁉️

I've been having these panic/anxiety attacks with neck stiffness and serious brain fog. So the doctor gave me 28 tablets of these suckers.

Let me know your thoughts πŸ’

Hi there

I have taken Propranalol for years. I do find that it helps with my anxiety.

I would also recommend that you try Lanes Quiet Life. You can buy it in Boots the Chemist or places like Holland & Barrett.

Unfortunately with Fibro, medication is very much trial and error, so until you try it you wont know if it helps.

Give it at least a few days to kick in and start working.

I've been taking these for about 3 years. I was initially prescribed them for severe headaches and slight tremors in my left hand and they do seem to do the trick most of the time. Think they also take the edge off any anxiety I suffer. I did initially start on 2.5mg and now on 80mg. From what I recall I think I had slight side effects at first of minor heart palpitations but these soon settled down. As mentioned it is trial and error but these work for me as nothing else seemed to alleviate my headaches. x

Just read this post of yours too. Is the neck stiffness at back of neck into base of skull? If you are studying a lot then you will be pulling on all the ligaments that connect the strong neck muscles to base of skull, because of bending head to look down at books. I use to end up with this neck pain at the end of most sunday services at church. This would then send referred pain up to patches in top of head generating sensory migraine type headache which would take me 3-4 days to shift completely. Whilst on pain management course learnt about ligaments in neck, did some thinking and chatting to physiotherapist. Concluded it was because spent most of two hours for 2 services on a sunday looking down. Shared hymn book with my young children. Bowed head in prayer. Looked down at bible and made notes when sermon so looking down then. A book stand purposely made for my bible and no longer sharing a hymn book now means i deliberately keep my head and neck straight for majority of service and no head pain resulting. I hardly get any head pain from sundays now and all because of a simple book standcustom built to go on back of seat in front of me. It has changed my life.

Just another comment on first reply. If this does sound like your problem and you have formal diagnosis then uni spec needs dept should be able to help you again. There is a grant you can get for equipment that helps you with your needs to achieve your uni course: eg chair desk bookstand or whatever helps you with posture maybe.
