This is a link to a pain management page. It has a link in it to the pain toolkit booklet. I was introduced to it by my physio and have found it very useful. Hope you are all having a reduced pain day where you can function like a normal person x

Thank you for such a kind and thoughtful post my friend, it is genuinely appreciated. I sincerely hope that you have had a wonderful day. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
You're welcome. Anything to help with coping with chronic pain is useful. I waited for over a year to get a pain team assessment. By that time my left arm was stuck by my side and I only had 10 degrees of movement. My pain was at the top of the Magill scale and I was only able to cope because a friend in Holland introduced me to Pacing. Something that's covered throughout the Pain Toolkit booklet. I've had a tough day. My house has a back door that doesn't fit so my kitchen is around 12 degrees. I can't stand in there long as the cold and damp makes my condition worse. I've been living on microwave porridge, tea which I make in my lounge and biscuits. I've reported it to my landlord many times. Next stop is environmental health and my local council.
Hi Sheila-Squirrel I really am so genuinely sorry to read that my friend and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with getting this sorted and please take care of yourself.
I was given the pain toolkit booklet at my first pain management appointment just over a week ago. I downloaded the app (£4.99) . There are some short questions and it guides you as to which tools may help.
I'm tackling pacing at the moment.
How are others getting on with this approach?
I have already found that doing stretching exercises similar to Pilates has helped me pain. I started 6 months ago with literally 5 mins worth now I can do 20 mins. I'm lucky I have a physio to guide me.
It's hard to get going when everything hurts but it does help me .
I use pacing every day. It's hard to remember to break things down into smaller tasks at first. It does becomes a way of life though. You sort of have to say RIP to the life you knew to be able to move on. Its a bit like learning to ride a bike. You have stabilisers, you take them off, you fall off and finally you can balance. I too do stretching exercises. It sounds like you have a positive attitude towards dealing with your condition. That's your greatest tool in staying active and having a quality life rather than just surviving. Many bright blessings for a comfortable day x
