Ho had letter to day with diagnosis right side sciatica chronic lower back pain fibromyalgia and mechanical left shoulder positive SLR. At 40/50 degrees and any one know what this mechanical means plz

I have often heard this term used but never really understood what it meant.

Here is a definition that I have found for you:

"Mechanical pain is the general term that refers to any type of back pain caused by placing abnormal stress and strain on muscles of the vertebral column."

Think SLR usually refers to straight leg raise and positive indicates possible disc problems in the spine and mechanical shoulder is sometimes called Mothers shoulder.

Hi my physio told me years ago mechanical meant your bones and muscular was your muscles don't know if that helps it was year's ago it might mean something different now,
