Hi Nicola23580 welcome to our wonderful forum ā˜ŗ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.

You don't say if you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I'm sorry I haven't seen the article in the times you mention. What were they saying ?

Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.

That's so kind thank you for the quick response.

Yes it took doctors and consultants 3 years 6 months to diagnose this for me.

I read in the times newspaper that a lady had been diagnosed with fibramaralga and she actually made a growing difference in her life just by drinking Bone Broth, although it can be expensive i must agree it's really very good!!

I have been given so many antidepressants and really have struggled with every day life like all of us on here, the doctors have no idea no clue so as always they compress with what they know which in alot of people's case / situation is to give out medication.

I had the following

First medication Amitriptalin

Went up to 60mg

Second Medication Tramadol

60 mg

Third medication Duloxetine

60mg

This was without the other bits and pieces they gave me along the way and without what I would have to take for my Acid Reflux

Over this period of time doctors was starting low to high

If it didn't work Next medication !!

Funny thing was I was not getting any changes pain was horrific and getting worse and I mean worse

Bed that had been my life

When my doctor asked me how did I feel on every occasion I cried and there response was that they wanted to see me to see why I was emotional ...

Of course nothing to do with the Antidepressant.. ??

We as fibramaralga suffers deserve to be understood The right way!!

On a good note the bone broth I can honestly say is making changes in my life, please try everyone

At the end of the day we only have each other

Much love and delicate hugs

Nicola

I'm afraid your story is very familiar to many others. It takes a long time to diagnose because it mimics so many other Deseases like RA, Lupus, Limes etc. & all these things have to be elliminated before it is diagnosed. It is also the case that most ppl.with Fibro seem to take a concoction of different medication. Over the years I have had lots of different meds but now I finally have got them right but it had taken many yrs to arrive here.

I take Amitriptyline which helps with sleep, relax muscles which help with muscle spasms & moods also help with headaches.

Quinine which also help with cramps

Pregablin which help with nerve pain

Butrans patches for chronic pain.

Solpadol 50/300 (Codiene/Paracetamol ) PRN

I will do some research on the bone broth, never heard this before.

Hi Nicola23580

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have seen quite a bit on the TV recently about bone broth, and many other medical conditions. I cannot say if it is any good as I have never personally tried as I do not like the sound of it. I have pasted you an excerpt below from the *My Fibromyalgia Diet website that looks at bone broth, so I truly hope that you find this useful my friend:

*Letā€™s be honest. If you suffer from fibromyalgia chances are you could use a little boost in joint health and a boost in your immune system wouldnā€™t hurt. There is a reason that Chicken soup is recommended by doctors and mothers alike when you are feeling bad. Bone broths beef, chicken, fish, lamb and more are nutrient-dense, easy to digest, rich in flavor andā€“they boost healing.

Bone broths contain minerals in forms that your body can easily absorb: calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sulphur and others. Bone Broths contain chondroitin sulphates and glucosamine, which help to reduce inflammation, arthritis and joint pain

A study of the broth in chicken soup conducted by the University of Nebraska Medical Center found that the amino acids that are produced when making chicken stock reduces inflammation in the respiratory system and improves digestion, boosts the immune system and helps to heal allergies, asthma, and arthritis.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi I remember that my mum made it . Are you referring to a marrow bone?

Sorry Nicola. Bone broth what is that meaning. Do you mean does fibromyalgia affect the bones. Yes i would say so. I think fibro affect any part of your body . It just differs in people. Some suffer from one thing and others from a different set of ailments. I was diagnosed 25 years ago with the Epstein Barr virus and the Cytomateg virus but i dont know if that is fibromyalgia. The doctor told me i had yuppy flu or ME.
