I would go back to your GP and ask for a rheumatology referral. You may have an underlying condition which does not show up on xrays.
Do you know if your blood was tested for inflammation? That would show something is going on. Were you tested for Vit D? Low levels can cause general bone aches and pains.
It may be worth getting a copy of your blood tests from your surgery reception. If you say it is for your own records they should not charge you. If you are a nice patient, ask if you could pick them up at a time when they are less busy.
Thankyou, just feel a little uncomfortable as have mentioned the problem now for years and seem to be getting no were with gp, had bloods done also and they were clear.
Hi Carlhill995 and welcome to our wonderful forum. Am I right, reading into your post, you are thinking you have fibromyalgia ?.
What I would suggest is to go and look at our Mother Site fmauk.com where you will find lots of useful information and links on Fibromyalgia and as @bluebell99 advises, I would pay a return visit to your doctor and tell him your thoughts and ask if you can be referred to a Rheumatologist.
I do wish you well with it all and pls let us know how it goes.
Hi, thankyou so much, not sure if it is fibromyalgia but been in pain now along time so decided to see what answers I could find online(if any) through being an ex jockey I have taken many of bumps and bangs so can handle pain fine but living with this everyday and having no answers for what's causing it is bringing me down so much, small things like walking my dogs I now struggle with, I have never mentioned fibromyalgia to my gp before, I have 1 brother and 1 sister and both of them have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I honestly thought something was broken or I was covered in arthritis but since they came back clear I felt abit silly and didn't know were to turn.
Hi, have you read anything about Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?? Please have a look and see if you recognise yourself in the symptoms. Does not normally show up on scans and runs in families too (it get misdiagnosed as Fibro a lot of the time)
Thankyou have never heared of that but will read up on it now, as per usual I can't sleep as the pain in my lower back especially is killing me, so happy I've found this site, don't feel as alone now.
This site is great!! I'm awake too with my back. Ehlers Danlos is not very well known (even some Doctors don't know much about it) , I was diagnosed with Fibro first but with EDS 3 later) EDS is a connective tissue disorder and dislocations are common. Hope you find some answers and find out what's going on with you (it's not always easy to get the right treatment/support if you have not been diagnosed. Hope you get some sleep soon....
I might be wrong but have you looked up, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. CRPS for short. I dont know much about it but from what i have read about it you might find it helpful.
I do agree that seeing either a Rumatologist or Neurologist is probably your best bet
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so genuinely sorry to read of how you have been suffering and struggling and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck. I agree with your other respondents as Rheumatology / Neurology would probably be the bets way forward. Please take care of yourself.
