Morning all!! Started on Gabapentin on Tuesday night and finding I am sleeping better but feel exhausted the next day! To take one at night for one week then one at night and one in the morning next week. I have also heard about people putting on weight ? Can anyone give me some feedback on their experience !! Ps it's helping with the pain so that's a positive !!

Hi Macberts I would always say to our member friends if you,ve found a remedy that works stick with it! It IS very hard to get a good pain reliever for our condition (I assume yours is fibro) as for putting on weight- self discipline needed because you now feel better - hip hip hooray for you-- DON.T be tempted to eat more! You may have lost your appetite during bad days, so steer clear of what goes in the trolley at the supermarket (or online shop like me) like crisps=NoNO, ice creams= No No, fatty frozen foods= NoNo,, fresh fish with Omega 3= yes Yes, go easy on red meat go for chicken, turkey... I was warned by g.p to keep weight under control (I already had weight gain from taking HRT and having steroid injections) and so at morning I.m on Yokebe (bit like slimfast but gluten free and fat free) it goes in pint skimmed milk its tastes lovely , it has replaced cereal as most are high in fat and has also got me slowly of the caffeine!!!

Hiya I was on gabapentin for about 4 years. I didn't put on weight. I found it made my fatigue worse and did'nt help my pain. I'm now on pregablin and have put on weight. Jury still out on how much pain relief I get from it. Good luck and take care x
