Also, FMA UK have their own benefit adviser in case you need any assistance so I have pasted the link to (Janet) this below:

Everyone now 16-65 being changed over to pip. 16 and under stay on dla. There are only 2 rates available on pip as far as i am aware. Im awaiting a decision from pip as i appealed the lowest rate of dla as my circumstances changed. If awarded now i go to pip.
With mr.fibro now recognised as an illness in n.ireland he might be ok fingers crossed. Ive 4 other medical complaints besides fibro, on 18 tabs a day. Been fighting my corner now almost 2 years for a rate of dla thats fair. Fair play is all i want as people more supple than me has full rates, new car etc. Im not looking the full rate but a rate thats equal to my condition and needs. Im almost 32 and feel like 70. My condition has detererated in past year, have my good days but there on the decline. We just have to soldier on and hope for a day we get the right pill thats not out yet lol.
I have Fibro but I also have OA & Spondylosis which also affect my daily living and mobility. I am in receipt of DLA awaiting the brown envelope to drop through the door for PIP transfer.
A diagnosis of a particular condition doesn't mean an automatic award of any disability benefit be it ESA, PIP or DLA. Any award is based on how that condition affects the claimant on a day to day basis. Someone with only mild symptoms of Fibro which has a minimal effect on their life is less likely to get an award compared with someone who is extremely limited in what they can do due the severity of their condition.
In order to cut costs the Government did away with the equivalent of the DLA Low Rate Care and the Standard Rate of PIP is comparable to Middle Rate Care so the level of disability required to qualify for any PIP care award is higher than it was for DLA.
Dla was introduced by john major to keep unemployment figures down. Sadly it was abused and alot of non genuine people was getting it thats why its so hard to get now. G.p said the assessments for pip was to get non genuine claimants off the dla benefit as people were getting for such silly things. Good luck to all you fibro sufferers trying to get on it. As a sufferer myself im awaiting out come from decision maker. Good luck all. Marty in n.ireland.
Hi lima6MCT yes I know the ins and outs of pip been through it all with my son he's had dla since he was little and because of turning 16 he had to start a claim for pip,it was very successful though,he has cerebral palsy. It's all very daunting though isn't it?Good luck with your claim 🙂
