Just wondering is pip being awarded thru the claim form information and doctors report or is every one being assessed also. Pip advisor here in n.ireland told me on phone that people only getting assessment if decision makers are not satisfied with form and doctors report.

Hiya I have heard of a very few who have been judged on a paper assessment alone but not many. Also it doesn't appear that they always get in touch with your doc either x
Im sure over here its your docs report that counts as ive been told about this. If your doc didnt get contacted people would have every ailment in form to get max rate lol
Hi Hidden good question one I've been asking for a long while. What your doc said kinda makes sense to me.
There is just sooo many folks on dla they would be interviewing them all till doomsday. Then there's the new claiments !!

I think some things in Northern Ireland are a bit different, who is the company assessing there Hidden ? I believe it only came in there this year whereas areas of England have had it for some time. They seemed to concentrate initially on nee claims and then unfortunately are getting around to the transfers over. I am awaiting my own decision . We have found that there seems to have been a bit of a difference in attitude between Capita and ATOS with one more likely to do home visits than the other.
I think new claimants to PIP unless their case is very straightforward are more or less guaranteed an assessment. It seems to vary a bit with a DLA to PIP transfer but most people seem to be having an assessment but there have been several forum members who have sent in forms and evidence and has had a result on that alone.
Good luck in your case the more evidence you can get the better and if possible send it in as you cannot rely on them contacting your GP they didn't in my case.x
Its atos over here. Thank god my gp is 100% behind me as thats what gets u it anyway
Sorry to disagree but im afraid that simply is not true, my gp was 100% behind me and even offered to go to tribunal with me, as was my consultant behind with DLA application, i got declined, declined again on re assessment and declined on appeal, 14 months later i won at tribunal. By that point i was in seriously bad physical and emotional condition and being sanctioned by JSA because i physically couldnt attend appointments. Decision is made by DWP only, they employ HCPs at Atoz or or Capita to provide opinion and they consider any other medical evidence but DWP make sole decision.
Hi
In UK if their is plenty of information submitted on application form and medical information they are able to make decision on that alone .
Very rarely do they contact healthcare professional for info although it states they will if necessary. This is due to cost of requiring information.
They are more often likely to contact Support Workers ,Social Workers ,Care Managers ,CPN .

I had DLA at higher level and was not able to get PIP without full assessment. 99.9% of PIP claimants have face to face assessments.
Hi Hidden
I can only say from my personal experience and my wife was awarded PIP without any assessment. I want to sincerely wish you all the bets of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
