Newcomer needs friends and seeks help....

Hi everyone, I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, having had months and months of time of work where I have been so poorly, to the point where some days I couldnt even get out of bed. I have now managed to gradually get myself back to work with the help of lots of medication, but still I have very bad days, and every day I am in pain but I try to manage it. Someone told me about this website would be good to talk to people who have the same condition. Also I was told that you could claim PIP does anyone know anything about this? thank you for listening xxx

Hello and Welcome Dennisthemenace!!! Well you have certainly come to the right place for advise and friendship and support when you need it and a giggle or two. I am sorry you are in such pain....what meds are you on? Do they ease things for you? Probably like most of us you are on a cocktail of meds and it takes a while to find one that suits you. As far as PIP is concerned others will be able to help as my benefit was sorted out years ago. Good for you getting back to work as I am sure it's a struggle! There is a FMA UK's Benefits Advisor but I think I am right in saying she is away at present, but someone can help I am sure. Hope to hear more from you and I send a gentle hug...xx

Hi Hidden

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I have also pasted you a link to the GOV.UK cache on how to claim PIP. It is usually a case of being assessed to see if you qualify for the benefit, so I will sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you
