Hi, I'm Onyameba (a Ghanaian name meaning God's child). I've been kicking around for a while but realised today I haven't introduced myself properly. I was diagnosed with this wretched disease and some about 6years. I keep adding to the list of ailments which I find a bit scary at times. I'm only glad I have you all to turn to. In short just thank you all for being here and for the admin staff for all you do to keep this forum together. Gentle hugs to you all.

Thank you everybody for being together
Welcome Onyameba to the forum.... get ready for plenty of support, advice, and the odd bit of craziness thrown in from time to time - have to laugh or we'd cry type of situation xx
Hi there Onyameba & welcome to the forum. So you have been here a while but its never to late to introduce yourself. Most people hang around for a while before they post. I'm sure you will make lots of Fibro friends & its just good to talk to people that understand.
Fibro is very complex with lots of symptoms as you say & if you are worried about any thing in particular just put it up on a post and if people are experiencing the same thing, they will chat with you about it and hopefully put your mind at rest as to if this is a normal symptom of Fibro.
Have you been on the main site ? If not, please go and have a look because you will get lots of information on Fibro here

Look forward to chatting to you on the forum

Wonderful to meet you and what a lovely name. Yes we all keep on discovering that we have strsnge symptoms that with talking to others we discover are more common in fibromites than we thought. If you are the only one you know with fibro it can be a very lonely road and it is good to have all these Expert Patients to ask advice from when things get rather confusing or we are just not coping very well. I look forward to your future posts😄.x
Thank you rosewine, nice to meet you too. Gentle hugs.
Beautiful name and meaning...and Welcome to you. I am sure you will find lots of friends here and that you are able to discover information that is new to you that will help you to live with your Fibro....I look forward to hearing more from you Onyameba...I hope your day is as pain free as possible for you...hugs x

As others have said, welcome to Fibroland. A bit different to Leggoland, we don't make and build bricks, we make friends and give support and love when needed. This is awonderful community full of caring people, just like you, who can sometimes suggest something they have found helps.
It's also a community which tries to cheer everyone up, hence the morning posts with images, which we respond to with quips and comments, plus of course 'emoticons', the important part of any post/reply.
Such an interesting name, is it one found used often ?
Love Hayesider, nice to have a proper name for a change !!!!!!!!! 😀
Thank you Haysiders. In Ghana, most names have meanings and every one has a first name from the day of the week they are born. There is a story of me doing demonstration classes in Cumbria.-A taste of Ghana. A gentleman registered and appeared on the first day in a Ghanaian print shirt. I asked him how he came by it. He said " I was born in Ghana and my mum says to tell you my Ghanaian name is Kofi Atta Kakra. "Oh you are a twin and you were born on a Friday", I said. He then asked me how I know and I explained 'Kofi' is a Friday boy and 'Atta' is a twin and 'Kakra' is the younger twin. It's a long winded way of explaining, I've worn myself out now so I'll say gentle hugs for now. x
Hi Onyameba, what a beautiful name. I look forward to talking with you about all sorts of things
