I get at random times a single or in sets of 2 or 3 hives and they just bloom up and itch so bad. They appear for no rhyme or reason but I do notice always appear when I wake up or I am under pressure and nervous. Any body know the possibility of what is going on?

Hello....Can I assume that you have been diagnosed with Fibro and you are wondering if they are connected? I believe that Hives is stress related and if that is so it is not going to help your Fibro.....Is there a specific reason for your stress? I am sorry and I am sure there are some lotions and potions out there that would help...x

evening hopefloats,

I too get hives, this summer on my ankles. I take a mild antihistamine which helps and dab on chamomile lotion (the pink liquid that dries chalky) as it stops that insane need to itch. I don't know why I have hives but just use my lotion to ease them. sorry I couldn't be much help x

Thank you

I was in the Dr office when I was blooming with them on my arm. He inspected them and said I'll prescribe a cream and if that doesn't help I'll send you to a dermatologist. The cream helps a little with that horrible itch but really no help. I have not been back to him. I just wondered if anybody else deals with such a strange hive issue like this.

I can get them and often notice them first thing in the morning especially on my forearms for some reason. I have noticed that since having fibro my skin seems to be alot itchier. Lanocaine cream seems to help me and keeping my skin lubricated with E45 which was prescribed by a previous GP. A lukewarm shower can also help, just pay your skin dry but don't rub. If you keep in having them badly I would pop back to your GP. Good luck with it.x

Hi my friend

I am so gneuinely sorry to read this and I have pasted you two links and an excerpt to the *NHS Choices cache on this issue:

*Urticaria (hives)

nhs.uk/conditions/Nettle-ra...

Introduction

Urticaria – also known as hives, weals, welts or nettle rash – is a raised, itchy rash that appears on the skin. It may appear on one part of the body or be spread across large areas.

The rash is usually very itchy and ranges in size from a few millimetres to the size of a hand.

Although the affected area may change in appearance within 24 hours, the rash usually settles within a few days.

Doctors may refer to urticaria as either:

acute urticaria – if the rash clears completely within six weeks

chronic urticaria – in rarer cases, where the rash persists or comes and goes for more than six weeks, often over many years

A much rarer type of urticaria, known as urticaria vasculitis, can cause blood vessels inside the skin to become inflamed. In these cases, the weals last longer than 24 hours, are more painful, and can leave a bruise
