Hi There,

Has anyone experienced pain behind the eyes, within the eyebrow area and above the eyebrows? I was on steroids for 5 weeks a few months ago for inflammation as per my ophthalmologist but it appears itsback. Very frustrated.

I had this a few times, just above my eyebrow, it felt like somebody was pushing the blunt end of a pencil hard against my head

Catherine did your dr tell you it could be caused from fibromyalgia?

no, but so many of the medications they give for fibromyalgia do have some very odd side effects, I stopped taking the medications and the symptoms all went away.

Sinuses maybe?

The ophthalmologist that did a ton of tests never mentioned sinuses at all. She said that the blood vessels in my eyes were severely inflamed. It was better for a bit because of the steroids but it’s getting bad again.

I have chronic sinus problems and your pain sounds similar just a suggestion?...maybe ask for ear nose and throat ..e.n.t. Appointment.

Hi jenpadden

Don’t want to alarm you but just check out with your ophthalmologist again for glaucoma although I would be surprised if they haven’t already carried out the test, I suffer with high levels of pressure in my eyes & the pain you describe is one of the symptoms.

Me too but no glaucoma, it's high eye pressure and causes alot of problems in left eye mostly probably because left side my worse but get in both eyes. The medicine burned my eyes so bad and can not take. I tried 5 different ones. Ugh. Plus retainal detachment both eyes but never felt the right eye gone through just the left which caused tares and had Lazer surgery right then and there to fix. It just is bad all the time.

I have the exact same thing, if I frown or lift my eyebrows it's painful, to touch around the eye is painful and I still don't know what it is, I feel like everytime I go to the GP I have so many things to say or ask I feel like a nuisance. I am going to ask when I go back though. I also get pain on my legs and arms even if I haven't knocked myself etc.

I've had the eye, and the eyebrow pain. GP said it was nerve ending related, and left it as that. Still get it occasionally.
