Fluoxetine

Hi I have fibromyalgia for many years and have lower back pain I have two sticks one for each side. I went to doc's last week with strange feeling down my leg when standing and a stinging on one side of my face and generally odd feeling the doc gave me fluoxetine so been taking it for a few days and my back pain has reduced quite a bit leg pain almost gon. Has anyone else had this and is it going to last 😱😱😱

Hi thanks for that I don't seem to have any of the things it is usually prescribed for but is working I can only hope it keeps going

Hi Olivia. I was prescribed Fluoxetine by my GP before I got my full diagnosis from the rheumatologist. I have been taking it ever since and I find it does help with Fibro. I get stinging and tingling in my arms and legs but not in my face (yet!) It's a bit like Fluoxetine helps turn the volume down on the pain and funny symptoms. It also helps me to stay asleep a bit longer. I do wake up but it's not every hour or two hours like before. The only side effects I had were in the first few days - slight nausea and feeling a bit "spacey" - or was that just fibro fog lol.

I have never taken Fluoxetine myself but it sounds like you are having some good results with it? I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck my friend, and please take care of yourself.
