confused and un-medicated until recently

having been diagnosed with a myriad of issues relating to pain, i thought that I should try to find a common denominator. Is it possible that the amount of fillings I have had over the years is related? Amalgam has never been something i wanted in my body but if this is the case is it possible to get all amalgam removed on the NHS? My new dentist is refusing to add extra amalgam opting instead for composit but in the next breath says that i would need to pay for the removal of the others....

He's correct, NHS won't pay. Another issue to consider is that each time you have teeth drilled, you loose a little of the existing tooth thereby weakening what you have left of your own :-(

Even without the meds we'd all go that way, it's called old age ( :-O you may not all be 'old' ). We'll call it aging then :-P

very much so, very upset that i have been diagnosed and signed off away from various departments and then not monitored correctly by the GP though. then with the whole application for extra help issue it is nice to know that there are others who are in the same postion as me. It has been a sobering couple of days let me put it that way

That's usual ie consultants see you, write to GP and GP follows up with continuing care. You'll hear a lot of people not being happy with their GP, if you can you need to be firm with them and to educate them, if not try to find a GP whom you're happy with.

I've just moved and had to change from my lovely surgery where everyone was really nice, I'd been there for 26 years. This morning I needed to phone my new surgery and the reception staff can't seem to get you off the phone quickly enough :-( The GP I saw as a new patient was really good though so I'll stick with her even though the appointment I have just made means a 5 week wait. I'm not used to this :'(

Yea my teeth are weak owing to medication but I'm not gummy as yet -)

Hi I also have heard about filling issue's. The removal side is considered more dangerous than keeping them in your mouth so I decided against it. Good luck 😁
