Grumpy and Confused

Hi everyone, not been on for a little while, have not felt too good, so buried my head.

I am in a fog today, and have not had a good nights sleep, so am grumpy - not good is it. Can anyone tell me if when you are first diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, does the pain level you have then get worse or say the same, and do any other illnesses follow. I cant seem to get an answer from the Doc. Any help n this much appreciated. Hugs to you all and hope for a peaceful day. x

Hi I feel the same as you I have fibromyalgia but nothing else at the moment have talked to the hospital about "getting other illnesses". And what's ahead of me - will it get worse ? no one seems to know - we are all individuals - and I feel if I worry about it and stress about it I just become so unwell - so I have stopped going down that route - its a difficult one because of the anxiety that fibromyalgia causes - all the best - Neese. x

Hi Neese,

Thanks for such a quick reply. I know where you are coming from, and stressing about what may be next does not help. I suppose I just get on with coping with what I have just like all you lovely people. Take care of yourself.

Blessings x

Thanks Peck for your response. I think to just cope with what I have at this minute is enough for me at the moment, so I will hope nothing further occurs. Hope you have a good nights sleep. blessingsxxx

Hi

I'm not sure. I don't know if anyone is.

I know I really struggled to accept it and tried to keep going on as usual and that made it worse! It was the pain clinic dr who said that I had to accept it and. It fight it, had to adapt and pace myself. Since then I have tried and also to stay as positive as poss. I do pace myself and know if I do too much I will pay for it with more pain. We do seem to get periods of pain we can sort of cope with and really unbearable periods too. I do find illness and stress make it worse too.

The lack of sleep does effect you and I have now found an antidepressant that I can take and helps my mood a bit. I try to take my hemp tabs in the evening to try to relax me, then take Kalms herbal sleeping tabs. I do go to bed and listen to my audio books, as if I stay up or go on computer I don't tend to relax and drift off. Most nights if I'm lucky I can get between 3-4jrs sleep this way.

I do hope that this sort of helps you. Good luck in your search.

Take care and best wishes 😊

I already had high blood pressure, high chlorestrol, asthma, osteo and IBS before the diagnosis with fibeo. My asthma has actually got better due my old GP thought to th Pregablin as he said if it damps down the nerve endings there are nerve endings in the lungs so that has been a plus.

My osteo has got worse which is something you would expect as I have had itin some shape or form since my early 40's. Sometimes it is difficult to know what aches and pains are caused by fibro or osteo as they can give similar symptoms. My fibro seems to fluctuate from day to day but with no the meds I take I feel the actual fibro is mor manageable than when it first started or perhaps I have stopped railing against it and I am mor accepting of its limitations. Hope this helpsx

I think the best thing to do is take each day as it comes and fight on like so many of you brave souls out there. Thank you very much. x

That's what I do I suppose we don't have to much choice. I tend not to rail against it as much as I did as I realised it was just making me worse.x

Hi there

I can obviously only speak from my own experience. I have had so many operations and procedures my whole life, but I have had Fibro for most of my life (30 years) - so who knows!

I think your GP is unable to answer your question, because there is no definitive answer.

We really don't know enough about Fibromyalgia in general because it is not an interesting enough condition, by which I mean it comes way down low on the medical research list.

I don't know whether that helps or not!

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Hi I'm sure you can be as grumpy as you like when you are fighting pain every day. Don't over do things as you will certainly pay for it the next day. I have many illnesses and was only diagnosed last year with Fibro but think I have had it 20 yrs+. The support I have had from the lovely people on this site be it advice, a grump or a laugh is making my days easier and I hope it will help you too. Be kind to you self. Sending love and squishy cuddles to you. Dianne 😀X

Hi cattistock2013

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you have been so poorly and I sincerely hope that you feel better soon my friend. I think BlueMermaid3 (Lu) has hit it on the head exactly, as nobody really knows? We are all different and experience Fibro differently so it is impossible to say? I know personally that I had several other medical conditions prior to Fibro and they have got worse, but I do not think that my Fibro is worse?

I want sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take good care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Thanks for your kind words Ken. I will just take a day at a time. I think my day of being grumpy has passed to some extent but my pain remains. Still I have a good book and if the sun shines today I shall sit in my garden with a coffee and and my book. I wish you a calm and peaceful day. x
