Pleased to hear you've got an assessment.

They will want to know about how you cope day to day, looking after your own needs or does someone else care for your needs.

Just remember that they want to hear what it is like for you on your very worst day, not how you're feeling /coping on the day of the assessment, it can be difficult particularly if you're feeling slightly better etc on the day of the assessment.

I hope this helps in some way. Another thing to keep in mind is that they will be assessing you from the moment you walk into the centre or wherever the assessment is being held.

I hope the assessment goes well. Have you got someone else going with you? Please let us know how the assessment went.

Becky.

Hi

All questions will be to-do with information you have already submitted on your assessment form .All assesmeant different due to different assessors but they are looking at how you present yourself .So if you go with your hair done and make up they presume you can take care on your appearance.

If you do shopping on line you may not be able to go out but you can mange your finances and make decisions about money.

Their is normally one about hobbies, a trick one as this could be something you go out for.

Please remember its over a course of a week so out of 7 days if you require help with anything 3 days a week, for the majority of the week you manage. If its 5 days for most of the week you need help.

Personal care mention any aids you use shower stool .raised toilet seat ,grab rails, grabber stick anything at all.

Same with aids you use in kitchen ,lightweight pans ,electric tin opener.

You will also be asked to take part in a medical if this will cause you pain say so ,its simple things like lying on a couch and raising your legs ,sitting moving about how far you can bend how much strength you have in arms legs.

Some of this may be done before hand but be aware if asked to raise your hands above your head, this indicates to them you are able to wash your hair.

Their are always cognitive questions counting back from a number by 9 or similar and questions involving money for instance if you brought a item for 95p and handed over £1 how much change would you need .

They will be assessing you as soon as you enter the centre.

All you can do is be honest and ensure you take someone with you.

Good luck

Rose
