Hi

I have been suffering with achey joints extreme tiredness for the past 10 years , I have been in a cycle of seeing various different doctors with no outcome apart from being told to give it time and referred to someone else, I have a appointment with rheumatologist next week but know he will just discharge me with still no answers does anyone have any ideas on how to get a diagnosis, arthritis has been ruled out , lupus has been ruled out they look at auto immune but don't think its that I have low vitamin d levels which don't go up depsite taken repeated medication any help would be appreciated x

Have you had a look at all the symptoms on our mother site Fibromyalgia Action UK to see where your symptoms fit in.  With fibro you can have any or all of them.  If all your blood tests have come up clear it could be fibro.  I do hope you get some answers.

Give the Rheumy a chance...I was diagnosed by 2 Rheumis and a neurologist.....they had to check that it was nothing else....and a physio I was sent to said that out of all the horrible diagnosis that it could have been;lupus MS etc..Fibro was the 'better' condition....

Heey we almost got snap, I was diagnosed by a Rhumy and 2 neuros,

My gp wanted a second and third opinions.

:P

Dont give up, it often takes a Rhummy or Neurologist to diagnose fibro.

To find out more about fibro the link is fmauk.org.

See you later.

Hi kaya12

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you have been going around in circles in this way and I sincerely hope that you can find some answers soon. I will say that most Fibro patients are actually diagnosed by say Rheumatologist, so I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get a diagnosis one way or the other, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Kaya,

Have you had your thyroid checked?

The tests are a bit hit & miss, but could flag up hypothyroidism, which has many similar symptoms to FM.

I don't feel so bad since self-medicating for this condition, & upping my B12, D, & selenium intake from brazils.
