So sorry that your in so much pain at the moment can you try a hot bath or shower as a quick bit of relief? I don't know what painkillers your on so I can't comment. I also put ear plugs in and listen to calming music and try to concentrate with my eyes closed and follow the rhythm closely. Cold works as well as a distraction so sometimes  I run cold water over my wrists.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, do you have the number for your out of hours Dr?  Remember it will pass and try to do things that distract you from the pain.

Perhaps talk to your Dr about better pain control and perhaps Ambien a sleeping tablet I use to get back into a proper pattern, if there is such a thing for us fibro fighters!

Best wishes

Patrick

Sounds like a fit of when it is bad it is excruciating!

I send you gentle hugs I always find a hug helps.

Do you have a saving jar for pennies etcetera?    Good well get it out - get your position comfortable as well as you can  -  Start counting   yes tip them out and count them back.   Now you are wondering what  on earth has Ginsing  got me doing!

How is your pain  now don't think it- just pass it by  you hah a

This  a mind over matter  you can do it the pain will not win!

Don't forget to smile

I really would recommend meditation particularly mindfulness meditation or some sort of guided relaxation programme. It can do wonders for sleep.

Just a thought have you started on any new meds recently?  Last year I was put on an antidepressant for my lower back pain and every night I had the most awful palpitations.

I have always been something of ainsomniac but since this fibro struck it is very elusive.  I now try not to focus on the not sleeping and read, listen to music etc anything  but think about it.  Like Gins says distraction can sometimes really help even if you are not asleep your body is resting.

Hope we all have a better night tonight.😴😴😴😴😴😴x

Hi rosewine

Some of these anti depressants can cause cardiac arrhtymias. Be careful I cannot be prescribed ANY of the antidepressats becase of their side effects -especialy the cardiac side effect.

Sorry if this comes over as being negative.

Not negative at all as I think we learn so much from each other.  I have a feeling they might not be for me but as we all know we get desperate for some help.  I believe the two I have tried are from different "families" of antidepressants and there is only one other that might be suitable.  My last doctor was prepared to try that one but held off as he knew we were moving house and I needed all my wits about me, he did say that he did not hold out too much hope that it would suit me.

He had tried the two newer drugs first as he was quite ayoing doctor but sometimes as we know an older more established drug like Amytrapaline (can't remember how to spell it) might work better. Might hold off until the winter months when we all tend to hibernate morex

I would be careful about amyltrytilline because it can cause serious cardiac problems such as Long QT syndrome. Sorry.
