Hi all. I have had a really bad migrain for the last 48 hours and it has finally gone. Usually Sumatriptine controls it but not this time. I had to cancel my appointment at pain clinic on Friday and I have waited quite a while for the appointment. I am wondering if I should not bother going as I need a lift to get there and one back home twice a week for several weeks. I dont know if I can commit to that as I never know these days if I will be well enough to go. Any views on this would be welcome. Warm hugs to you all

I really sympathise with you as I find not being able to plan ahead one of the most frustrating aspect of fibromyalgia. Having said that I think I would attend the pain clinic if at all possible. x
There are loads of different Triptans so if one no longer works your GP could prescribe a different one for you to try. Also have you checked with the pain clinic to see if they offer hospital transport for patients who can't get to appointments on their own. Good luck and gentle hugs. Steph
I know it is very difficult and none of us likes relying on lifts but you might find you get so much out of the Pain Clinic appointments and lets be honest we need all the help we can get.x
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you have been suffering with a migraine and I know just how awful they are. Sumatriptan are a lifeline for me when I get a bad migraine.
If you are benefiting from the pain clinic it may be worth going, as it is difficult to find good pain medication that works effectively? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hi Crackers,
I've been to two pain management courses, & both were worth the effort.
It'll hurt like hell for the first few weeks, then you'll start to feel better, & have a laugh with other people who are in the same situation as you.
