Hello everyone I'm in the supermarket with my gf at the mo I'm trying out my walking stick for the first time and so far it's been a failure I'm not been able to walk any further than I would have done without it 😕

You're not supposed to walk further with a stick, just better. It does take a bit of getting used to as I am currently finding out. I keep tripping over mine when I'm walking as its in my left hand and I'm right handed. I could give Charlie Chaplin a run for his money lol 🐸

A (walking stick) battle may have to be fought more than once until it is won....so don't give up ;)

Walking sticks take a while to get used to and are only for support when walking. I use 2 crutches but cant walk very far at all and definitely not around a supermarket anymore. Some supermarkets have mobility shoppers which help though I'm not very good at driving these because I also have a problem with my hands.

I always feel that I need an extra hand when using my stick....then I walk away leaving it behind but even worse it ends up on the ground and I can't bend to retrieve it.....I try smiling but do feel like a circus turn...

I hope it goes smoothly for you

Gentle hugs
