Iv been in terrible pain for a year now being off work . been on meds for a year being told I have pulled muscles or tissue to my ankle. Then the pain traveled up my leg to knee then hip then across to other side .thought I had something wrong with my hips. Then traveled up to my shoulders back of my neck now in my fingers. Was sent to physical therapist for three months just to be told they couldn't do anymore so referred back to Dr then sent to see orthopedic xrays done to hips leg groin knee ankle no obstruction found so I asked to see a arthritis Dr and just went and seen a rheumatologist yesterday to be more or less told all in my head.told me I have Fibromyalgia. DLA no longer exists it has been replaced with PIP and ESA, always worth applying for and if you're not too good with forms get help from CAB or disability advisor. Good luck x

Hi there it helps if you have evidence or support of some official medical body eg doctor. Or you can ask your doctor if they would support you in a claim. To be honest you just apply and answer the questions it can take about a year before a medical or decision can be made. Citizen's advice or if you look to the right hand corner of this page you'll see a list under the TOPICS Benefits or work they may know more. x

It's sad that your rheumatologist said that it was all in your head in the same breath as fibromyalgia. Fibro is NOT all in your head. The best thing that you can do for your Fibro is learn as much as you possibly can about it. Fibromyalgia.co.uk is a good place to start. You will find that various social networks like Facebook and Pinterest have pages too 🐸

Hi Drifty, I have left this reply to your other post, so I genuinely hope that you find it useful;

Hi Drifty

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? As your other respondents have said, it will be PIP now that you would put in a claim for but there are no guarantees that you would be eligible. It would depend on you having an assessment.

I have pasted you a link to the GOV.UK cache on how to claim PIP:

gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim

It may help you claim if you could get some professional help like the CAB to help fill in your forms or you can contact the FMA UK benefits helpline, I have pasted you a link below:

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
