I am so genuinely sorry to read that you have tennis elbow, and I sincerely hope that you are not in too much pain as a result. It is a funny terminology for a medical condition? I have pasted you an excerpt and a link to the NHS Choices cache on this medical condition:

NHS Choices - Tennis Elbow:

nhs.uk/conditions/Tennis-el...

*What causes tennis elbow?

The elbow joint is surrounded by muscles that move your elbow, wrist and fingers. The tendons in your elbow join the bones and muscles together, and control the muscles of your forearm.

Tennis elbow is usually caused by overusing the muscles attached to your elbow and used to straighten your wrist. If the muscles and tendons are strained, tiny tears and inflammation can develop near the bony lump (the lateral epicondyle) on the outside of your elbow.

As the name suggests, tennis elbow is sometimes caused by playing tennis. However, it is often caused by other activities that place repeated stress on the elbow joint, such as decorating or playing the violin.

*Excerpt From NHS Choices.

I would definitely rest the elbow up until the next Davis Cup so you can help Andy Murray keep hold of the title! I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I too have just been diagnosed with tennis elbow, if only I could play tennis......lol. Sooo painful isn't it? My GP just told me to massage it??? As if fibro isn't painful enough, this elbow and arm pain is now the icing on the cake! Gotta smile through it all though......just gonna dig out my racquet and maybe a game later! Lol xx

Incidently Ken is correct in saying overuse is the reason for tennis elbow pain, GP says mine was bought about by using my walking stick!!! Lol xx

Good luck with that! I had it for 18 months, had two injections didn't work, and then a plasma rich protein inj. that didn't work either, but on a positive note it did clear up on its own though .

hugs

My friend's husband got this from doing his job, he was a carpenter. He was given a support strap to wear. MariLiz

Hiya

I don't play tennis and I have got it in both elbows. My g.p said most people with tennis elbow don't play tennis and people with golfer's elbow don't play golf lol

I found the injection didn't help but the supports in boots are great but are not supposed to be worn in bed.

Hope the pain goes soon.
