To be quite honest it can be very difficult. I had a new pain in my elbow and it was nothing to do with fibro it was actually Tennis Elbow. I was at my normal electro acupuncture and persuaded the nurse to give my elbow a go and it was like a miracle as it literally took the pain away by the next day and I had had that awful pain for several weeks and could hardly use my arm. Only wish it would work as well on my back. If it is very severe I would tend to book an appt with your GP just to eliminate other causes.x

Hi millymolly,

This is a tricky one and something I think most of us will have experienced at one point or another. I had very bad shoulder pain which for a few years I put down to fibro, I had some cortisone injections from my GP which initially helped. Eventually it was found to be arthritis and I ended up having to have a shoulder replacement. At my first appointment with the shoulder consultant even he put it down to "another piece in the jigsaw of fibromyalgia " 18 months later I was "bone on bone" and in an agony which nearly drove me mad, no pain killer touched it......... It just goes to show that even the specialists are caught out between what is and what isn't fibro!!

I certainly think it is worth getting your GP to have a look at your elbow, just to make him aware and see if he/thinks it may be something else,

Lots of positive vibes coming your way 😀

Foggy x

Wow, that is a tough one. Did you hit it? Lift anything heavy? Is it constant or just when you move it? Listen to yourself, use pain cream or lotion to see if get relief . If remains, ask doc to check .

It really is a tough one to answer, as we cannot always assume that a new pain or prolonged pain is Fibro and therefore it can be beneficial to get it checked out. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you
