Face pain
Hi seren
Wishing a belated welcome to this lovely sanctuary.. it does appear to be fairly common to have jaw pain with fibro.I tend to clench my jaw a lot, which now I'm aware of I try to stop.. I have to stretch the muscles by moving my jaw side to side and up and down and also massage the muscles near the ears..also bang my teeth together when asleep so have to use a mouth fairs, otherwise wake up with bad head and sinuses....
Hope this helps
Best wishes
Steve
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for? It is not something that I suffer with but I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck with this problem.
All my hopes and dreams for you

You might have TJMD? I have that, worse on one side than the other, but not very painful, just irritating when I yawn or otherwise open my mouth wide. But it causes me to grit my teeth at ngiht.
I also was getting strange movements of my jaws, among othere body parts, and teeth clenching, when I was on Gabapentin.
I hope you can find a solution for this. I suggest you talk to your GP.
Hi Seren,
(Lovely Welsh name 😄) I get this sometimes when the muscles in my jaw seem to tense up. I try and loosen it off by doing stretching eg opening my mouth wide and doing side to side movements, slowly though this does seem to help, like fibro rocker. Hope this helps. Take care. X
Yep years off and on with weather change. I'm full blown fibro so I get spasms throughout my body rabdomnly. Can b very frustrating especially at night when need to rest. I sleep with facial and body heating pad. Warmth helps. I take soma muscle relaxers as needed ,tramadol every 6 hrs and 2nuerontin at night. Kept me functional. Still unable to work with pain but I manage to keep close to god, my k kids. My marital shaky besides fibro. That's in God's hands I've done all I'm able. I'm very blessed it could b worse.
yep.
its called TMJD and it's severe for me..presents as permanent toothache for which I have to take regular strong pain relief just to function .
Unfortunately it is common with fm but I really hope u don't get it as severe as me xx
Bless you ,I have that too and the pain is excruciating. Was made worse when I had to have a tooth pulled out.The pain lasted a month.Day to day I get terrible pain, almost like a dislocation pain and it shoots right up into my ear.Gp dismissed my pain but specialist knew straight away that it's part of fibro.Hard one to live with.Lots of pain relief is all they offered me.xx
Yes I can emphathise with you as unfortunately I have had it for years. If I had anything done to my teeth the pain used to stay for too long a length of time afterwards. When I had a wisdom tooth out in hospital one year I was still suffering pain in that area the next year when I had to have the wisdom tooth out the other side. The specialist was kind enough to order an Xray to see if any tooth had been left there but there was nothing she said unfortunately some people have this kind of "phantom" jaw pain which is very real but they can find no logical cause for it and pain killers were the only answer and as I was already on high doses that was that. At the time i did not know I was suffering from fibro.
Like others here i am very aware I grind my teeth which is caused by the pain I am in so it is like some kind of vicious circle. When it is at its height I try to eat soft foods and find Difflam rinsed around my mouth can numb some of the pain. Hope you find something that helps you.x
Thank you everyone I'm of to docs at 4pm I forgot to mention I have scalp pain and when touch it it's like it's been burnt or something like that hard to explain x
