Well I use my iPhone so I don't have to get out of bed!
Oh yeah, that's right. I'm behind in the tech world, still have a semi dumb, semi smart phone, so I'm glad you have the access!
I'm longing for my renewal to come up so I can get an iPhone to syn in with my iPads 👍🏻👍🏻😃 Can't get my head round androids......lalala 😉
Aren't Androids like robot men? Or aliens or something?
Just wondering . . .
Tech challenged
That's obviously the problem ...... hadn't thought of that,.......eeeeeekkkk I have an alien sitting on my staircase ........help.....🙀🙀🙀🙀😉
Must prepare the troops to do battle against the androids 👽👽👽🚀🚁✈️🗿
. . . and who's going to remember to lead them, eh FOGGY?
Hee hee hee hee
A I (artificial Intelligence) androids have moved on from predictive texts.
Average smart phone has more computing power than the lunar landing craft
and so do those annoying musical greetings cards. Wasn't it about 40kb on the Lunar Module?
University of Surrey are using a smartphone to control a satellite. Well, it does have GPS and accelerometers
A washing machine with fuzzy logic is now the normal what would Alan Turing think
I'd like to imagine he's be gratified, but how many inventors are surprised by what the res of us do with their inventions? Alfred Nobel is a prime example
clare.......you have a point for certain
Smart phones are entirely too smart it appears. More computing power than a lunar landing craft? Man, it won't be long till they take over the world. Or maybe they have. The proliferation is almost scary. And what about privacy?
Did you know that if you have the phone on your body and some agency with the right equipment and the interest - whatever that may be - can actually monitor your entire body movement? (oscillations?) Like if you're having a fight, they can watch the punches fly and the body contact, pitching over, etc. Well, I don't expect the gov't will be watching poor lil me soon, but who knows, right?
Mr Data from Star Trek is an android
but why does it have to be a man?
Why not make a girl one to fall in love with him? He wants to have human emotions; technology is advanced enough - witness the smart phone. It's about time for a new Star Trek movie (without the now soft, pudgy faced Ca'n Kirk) and an android "joining . . . "
Doncha think?
Maybe we should change the subject. This thread is getting out of hand! But it's fun!
That is so funny! I haven't seen 'Maxine' for awhile!! .... and Yes.... I soooooo identify!
Fatigue continues to be my biggest issue right now!
Same here, exhaustion but unable to sleep.....great 😝😝
Exhaustion and RSL. 2 Showers during the night and just had my second bath of the day.
Im gonna melt.
And about phones, ........ 'androids'..... ?? ..... I lost my phone somewhere in my yard... years ago. It was NOT a 'smart' phone!! My daughter in law was just getting a new one.... so she gave me her old one. She has had 5 new phones since...... and I am still using her old one!!!!! .... Still works well..... but does absolutely nothing that is 'smart!! I am going on a trip next week and will be gone for a month.... So am seriously considering getting an iphone and can 'sinc' it to my email, etc. .... And..... I can continue to 'post' !!
I love my iPhone my daughter bought it for me. It's really easy to use and I need all the help I can get! I would be so lost without it. I have everything on it! My doctors have a tendency to ask a lot of questions. I look at them and say let me find my phone! They think it's funny but on days Fibro fog sets in. I really don't remember anything. So I keep track of everything on it! My son in law keeps my security up to date! If I have trouble with it. I call him. He is a technical manager so he tells me what to do! And I am with you foggy. Let's fight the androids together!🚀✈️💺📲📱⌚️📡🔦💥💥💥🚀🚀🚨🚊🚂🚋🚘🚔🚜🚚
Hate my phone. My Daughter gave it to me. it doesnt even have zoom on the camera. Grrrrr
I am seriously thinking of getting it replaced and this one can go into the cut.
mine doesn't even have a camera!
My husband has just spent hours trying to get this computer to recognise when a camera has been attached, any camera, But no it just refuses to speak to them. ?
All sugestions welcome
You may have to do a update on your pc. What are you running? Windows, ????
Why have a smart phone if you can't take pics? Or transfer them to a computer. Grrrr is right. I hope you all get that straightened out soon.
Think its sorted. but will leave it until tomorrow to fry my brains, They are getting nearer to the pan every day as it is.
I think that he has sorted it but at the moment i dont feel up to reading the manual to the camera and package that comes with it.
What happened to a camera being a camera and a phone was only for talking to people or maybe even texting? I can't keep up
Leaves me a bit tired too. Cameras have changed, and I'd love to have one of the new digitals (would even prefer one of my old film cameras actually) but too expensive for me right now. So, phone it is.
My current camera cost less than 20 develop and prints films so has paid for itself many times over. You've seen the results on this forum.
What do you have? I have a small digital but it is so old and slow I really do need to upgrade.
A Fuji S4500. half the price and twice the power of the one before which was a Fuji S1500. It does quite well in low light. I need to learn to set things like shutter speed and aperture. File size can be huge (13 megapix I think) and 30x zoom. Ridiculous, though cameras much cheaper are also good enough for most purposes. It means i can produce a good snapshot most of the time or go for big files if i think I'll want resolution. I'm proud to say I've had a couple published on a website but got nowhere on Countryfile Calendar
Oh, yes, and it does movies for less than 1/10 th the price of a camcorder when they first came out. Got some lovely ones of water voles
Fuji are good, bought my daughter a smaller one for concerts and such fast enough to catch great pics even when she was a little further back than she would have liked. She loved it, it got broke and her Fiancé bought her a cannon which she hates, personally I like point and shoot, less complicated, just like me
I thought about a compact as they're easy to handle. I don't like a lot of junk around my neck - but this one fits the bill as it lets me make a lot of mistakes.
I don't need a camera to make a lot of mistakes

Thanks for waking me up tired(alot). It's 8 hours earlier here in California.
Really good point badger. Developing and printing film is a whole different deal from when that was the only method available. There are some kinds of photography that are still better with a really good photographer behind a traditional camera, but the increase in resolution of dig cameras is improving all the time, and is plenty for just about all the amateur's needs, professionals too in almost all cases.
I used to take loads of pics when on holiday or a day out and then couldnt afford to have them developed.
Yup. I'm not that good despite compliments but they're very forgiving and you can take and discard lots.
One evening I took over 300 of a single sunset on Portland (UK). Got some lovely scenes but no way would I have done that on film. It was several years ago Agfa developed their last film. I'm not sure it's that easy now. I have some friends who have reverted to pre war and do their own
I'm with you!!! Not only can't I keep up....... sometimes i don't want to and just want to go back in time to the 'simple life' !!! p.s. ..... this is out of order from above..... and meant to go with comment from 'tiredalot40'
Nope! Tulip xx
too true haha x
The kids decided everything had to be in the palm of your hand! My kid had to show me how to work it! But now I love it!
We have a family plan and if anyone makes any change in it, which includes adding a smart phone for myself, we'll lose the good rate. Maybe if we ever get to a point that there's enough cash in the coffers that will change. I envy - sort of - those smart phones which are everywhere. Seems like even the poorest of people have one! I could even put up with the daily charging.
One thing I don't need is the navigation. I've always been a map person and rarely get lost or waylaid.
Still . . .
Yep hubby is following sat nav while i have a map on my lap.
It is something that i have insisted on ever since sat nav took us half way to Scotland when trying to get home to Birmingham from Lincolnshire.
Not having a map meant that we had no idea where we were to take a different route.
Earlier this this year it tried several times to send us camping in the middle of the power station.
Oh and it also took us on a tour of Lincolnshire when all we wanted was to go from Lincoln to Mablethorp.
Down with sat navs i say. up with maps.
That's one of the funniest nav snafus I've heard!
Satnavs are only a guide and I usually know better. My daughter says mine in my head. Admittedly I do have a good sense of direction and am not afraid to ask. In my chauffeuring job I never looked at a map with the customer in the car (i.e. did my homework). They were impressed. There's a road near ne with a sign saying "HGVs turn off satnav. You've already gone the wrong way and cant get through" - or word to that effect. There's a 6' 6" restriction in the village.
My brain needs a lot of charging these days.
I liked the one where Princess Diana's brother wanted to see Chelsea Play at home, so he tapped in "Stamford Bridge" and didn't spot the error when satnav directed him north towards York instead of south toward London
My daughter took me to meet someone and we ended up in a yacht club 1/2 a mile from the house. D'oh.
Sadly, this is me all over!
Thanks for sharing
Ken x
At least you can get out of bed?!!
