Fibro/Cfs answer to those that are not so bright to understand you.

Fibro/cfs is a bit like running a bank account if you keep it topped up your ok to deal with paying things out etc

but with fibro/cfs the funds going in are slow to arrive/take longer to replenish so the out goings are more so you become over drawn there are odd benefits you can get to help account in short term to defer balance/payments etc

Now this is the tricky part! all have to be paid back now once overdrawn you have to pay it all back plus interest and service charges etc

which is the part many never understand so that £20 now costs you £25 or more as your straining to pay.

So you have done X so normally sleep for X is ok but in our case we have to sleep for XY and could be Z to balance the books!

So anyone asked what it's like to live with you can use this analogy quite simple for them to understand?(hopefully) amend it as you see fit plus add to here as i just thought about this on spur of moment and thought would post up.

Mark VanNess research director of Pacific Fatigue Labs used a credit card analogy where an elite athlete would pay interest at less than 5% normal healthy population around 10 - 15% depending on conditioning and CFS over 50% when repayments at normal healthy rates were already out of reach.

in reply toIan123

there is a conversion rate for everything as even if you eat 1000Kcal you won't get that much energy to use as alot lost in converting and waste etc

Mind similar to charging a battery you have to put a lot more in than it's taking but we know what we mean etc but those outside the circle are not so bright as us that have to live with it.

But even if you clear the overdraft the bank won't give you credit for you to purchase any sort of bounce.

Oh how I miss me bounce me ball is deflating over time.

That's brilliant though I would probably get confused in the retelling :-/

Hi well feel free to share just thought would keep it simple and a bank account type analogy is quite a simple thing that many outside can understand where as if you try to explain FMS/CFS it taxes there few brain cells!lol
