Headaches driving me insane!

Hello lovely people 😺

Has anyone found that they get really bad headaches/migraines with Fibro? I've had bad headaches since I was about 16 but found they have gotten worse of late! Just wondering if it is a fibro thing or a completely random coincidence!

I hope you all have a nice Easter weekend!

Love 😺

Hi Catrin,πŸ˜€

I think there are definite links between fibro and migraines/bad headaches. I have suffered for ages with migraines, sometimes they seemingly last for days, others I 'recover' more quickly from but still feel like I've been run over by a bus. I certainly don't think it's coincidence that you have both, sadly πŸ˜•

If you look at the top right hand part of the page you will see other posts which are about migraines and headaches and perhaps they will give you a larger view of the subject.

Sending lots of positive healing vibes your way πŸ˜€ and a Happy (and hopefully migraine free) Easter to you πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Hi Foggy :)

Thanks for replying and your advice. This condition is just so crazy and all over the place. It's just been awful today, really struggling to keep my eyes open.

Sending you all the positive vibes back and I hope you enjoy your weekend :D

Awww Cat, I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time, and of course a bank holiday weekend upon us. I suffer as I said, and I take Maxalt or rizatriptan, which may be worth asking your GP about when business resumes. In the meantime do everything you can to make yourself as comfy as you can. I also have blackout eye masks which help and at one point tried an eye mask that came out of the fridge, a cold flannel, may do the same thing. Do do please keep on with the drinking water as dehydration can only make you feel much worse, I know it's hard, but please do try πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

I so wish I could make things magically better for you, but as you are finding out fibro has its way of tripping us up, despite (or sometimes it seems like to spite) our best efforts not to let it do so!!

More healing vibes and a gentle hug ((((Cat)))) 😊

Thank you. I will mention to the GP though I am pretty sure I have taken Maxalt before with no affect. I will have to invest in the eyes mask! I currently have a warmed up lion teddy on my neck as the pain is bad there too.

Yeah trying to drink as much as I can as I know if I don't it will just get worse.

I wish so too, for you as well.

Gentle hugs :)

Yes I do. I can have an upset tum and a funny head for about 10-14 days at a time and then as mysteriously as it comes it goes. It is never severe enough to actually make me go to bed but just makes life miserable. The trouble when you are already on alot of painkillers there isn't anything else you can really take. I can definately commiserate with you.x

My tummy hasn't been great either for the last couple of weeks :/ Today has been awful, just been curled up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and just trying to make sure I am drinking enough. Painkillers have never helped my headaches, or any other tablets I have tried for that matter. The only thing that has ever worked is running outside, which ofc I cannot do atm. I have only been diagnosed since Jan so just trying to get used to all that Fibro throws at me. It's such a crazy condition!

I hope all is well with you and you have a lovely weekend.

This fibro thing takes alot of getting used to with all its various symptoms. I don't think the changing weather helps either if you are susceptible to headaches .Hope that you will have a better day tomorrow. OH is just having to go to bed as he has been trying to fight off a migraine the last few days and has just decided he is not equal to the struggle.x

It really does, and the weather has been awful. Thank you :) Awh bless him. It is absolutely awful. Just so hard to do anything at times.

Wish you both much health <3 x

I get them occasionally, but not for a year or so now.

When I get one I get minor visual disturbance then very quickly after I struggle to speak, read or even think. Then the headache starts and it doesn't go away and doesn't go away for hours and hours. It's a horrible experience. The first time I had one I was taken to hospital with suspected stroke.

I find they are caused by bright lights especially the sun if I sat in it too long trying to read (without sunglasses), in a beer garden with reflections off glasses etc, sun reflecting off windows or travelling long journeys in the car in the dark Especially motorway - have to close my eyes ha ha. Works for me though.

It was just another piece of the fibro puzzle for me.

Hope you find if there is a trigger for you soon to help minimise them x

Thank you for your reply :) and sorry you have had such a hard time with them!

I have found that light, especially sun can be quite bad for me too. As well as having my hair up too tightly! Though it can come on at anytime randomly and I just have to deal with it best I can.

Thank you for the advice :) Wishing you good health and positive vibes :) x

I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue, and I would definitely discuss this with your GP as there may be something they can do about it? I have terrible migraines and I have a medication called Sumatriptan which really works well for me.

I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Thank you for your reply and kind words :)

I have been going back and forth to the GP ever since my headaches began and sadly no tablet has ever helped. The one thing I did find that helped was running outside but I can't do that anymore :( Though if they carry on this bad I will have to go back cos it's really starting to effect my mood.

I wish you health and all the positives vibes in the world. Thank you.

Migraine tablets never worked for me, I did have self administered injections for years but now use a nasal inhaler. Good luck

Thank you! I have been on everything for them an nothing has worked so I don't bother now! Just try and get through them best I can!! Really bad days means lying n a dark room waiting for them to pass.

Wish you good health and positive vibes :D x

Day four of another intense migraine for me. I seem to get them every fortnight now and makes me queasy. Lights of any sort from windows to TV to reflections off windows and any kind of sitting or walking in the wind/draught.

Feel totally exhausted from lack of sleep too. I never used to get them until around a year ago and now have totally compassion for anyone who gets them. The eye patch sounds a good idea and think I will invest in a good pair of sunglasses this year.

Mine is still quite bad today though is better than yesterday which I am glad of! They take everything out of me, I just don't want to move with them. Just a break from them would be nice!

Yeah definitely need to get some, and sunglasses too, though will need prescription ones. Will have to get some old ones tinted I think!

Hope today is better for you! Sending all the positive vibes and health to you.

When I get a really be headaches the rest of the symptoms usually follow.

Yeah I do think it is all connected. Just wish I knew how to either avoid getting them or getting rid of them all together. x
