I used to work full time but had to finally give in to the fibro last April. You know your own body, if it's too much for you then it's time to make changes.
Good Luck x
I'm finding IT harder and harder , the pain I can handle but the exhaustion I cant. My brain is foggy for 80% of my working day so I find it hard to concentrate. But I worry about losing my income, I'm not in a position to do that. Have your symptoms eased since giving up work Wendy? X
Sorry to hear that, my symptoms are getting worse but I've had a lot of stress which doesn't help. I lost my brother last month from a sudden heart attack. You can get help ESA & possibly other benefits.
Oh I am very sorry to hear that. Xx
The best advice I can give u is to print off some information about fibromyalgia & take it into work. If u have a staff room leave it for colleagues to read & put a little note saying that u are happy to answer any questions. Once they understand the condition u will find it easier to tell them when u are having a bad day.

Hi yes I work full time its hard isnt it? Just take 1 day at a time x
I cut down 3 years ago to 30 hours per week, this is still over 5 days so still feels like full time and after work naps are part of my daily routine. Without them I'm good for nothing.
Wishing you well

It's scary talking to the people at work, if I feel rough or tired I just struggle through as I don't like taking time off. Right now I could sleep but I have to persevere and its so hard. Cutting down could be an option, it's just so difficult and I feel that others can never fully appreciate just how much so.
Hope the horrible weather isn't affecting you too much x
Hello...I used to work full time but had to change careers and try going part time as couldn't cope with my previous career and being full time anymore. Feel so worthless for not being self sufficient. I take it lots of us in same boat? Keep on counting my blessings to remember that lots of ppl worse off than me around the world and helps.
Hello, thanks for your reply, I feel the same and I try to remember that I'm not as bad as others but when you're in a flare it's difficult. Id like to change careers but I wouldn't know where to start! And obviously money is a big drawback from changing jobs.
I'm just changing to part time after being off sick from full time job since June 2015. It's a big adjustment and I hate not being able to earn the money I used to but like you say there are a lot of people in a worse position and I have a job. On phased return at the moment hoping I can manage to get to 25hrs per week.

Hi, I work full time, although from home. Not sure how I'd manage otherwise, but know I'd struggle. As Julie said, take one day at a time. Take it easy Xx
Hi, I'd love to be able to work from home, what do you do if you don't mind my asking? Some days are better than others, I guess when I get bad days I forget about the good ones xx
I work for Telecoms. It's good and bad as your social side falters but shouldn't really complain as I know the good outweighs the bad, especially with still being able to keep working.
Yeah the social aspect would be hard to lose but I think in the long run it would be the best x
Yes, I work full time. Trouble is, if you do go off sick, people think you are swinging the lead. No-one seems to know about fibro so there's not too much understanding of it in the workplace. Also, frightened to make a fuss or discuss it as it could make be vulnerable when redundancies raise their inevitable head on a yearly basis!
yes I work full time as a carer and I would say that im worse that a lot of my clients x I have no option as I need to keep a roof over my head but its hard and sometimes I could cry at work with pain and exhaustion x
I totally understand. I worked for NHS, until yesterday. They called me into the office and explained its too much of a risk me working there as there are steps which are very narrow to climb down.
I emptied my cupboard and cleared my desk, oh how humiliating it was. Everyone was watching me, collected my coat and scarf. I just couldn't bring myself to say goodbye, so after 4.5 years left.
Now I'm just sitting here numb.
I will be trying to go down the lines of ILL Health Retirement with Occupational Health. I never was given a contract at work, so working on zero hours for this many years, in a way it's now a relief. I can wait for my brain and full spinal MRI results next week, try new medication without worrying. Plus I can stop going to the toilet to have a little cry.
Damn, I'm sorry Lottie. Unless a miracle occurs, I'm losing my job on Friday too - and that's with being able to work from home.
