Do you get any financial help?
I stopped workin 3 and a half years ago,had my own florist shop but just couldnt carry on.Havent been able to wrk since although i am now traiinng to become a counsellor.
I haven't worked for 3 years and i get not financial aid just rely on my Paul's wage but we manage just about
I have been unable to work for over 18 months, The fibro saw to that.
I worked full time til June 2011. Mega flare up. Six months full pay, six months half pay then sack. ;0(
Not worked since may last year after suffering a fall down stairs have OA and FMS and depression. Get ESA and DLA high rate mobility is very bad now and even when my body may have moments of function my mind doesn't. As for you, it will depend if you have a partner, if you are going off sick and if the damn esa will give you any money. A warning though once you give up work its will be really difficult to go back.
I do have a partner but of course there is not enough money to go around on just his wage! Now been signed off work for a month! I hate this......
I have not worked for almost 3 years, I was diagnosed with severe fibromyalgia and 12 months later M.E. I worked full time and drove many miles as a locum pharmacy technician. so my days would start early and finish late. I would be stood all day too apart from the driving, and when I was diagnosed my G.P. initially signed me off for 6 months, but it soon became obvious that there was no way I could go back to my job.
I do voluntary work, but have been so ill this year, that I have not done it, but hope to pick up again in 2013.
Yesterday I was in the kitchen all day making sweets, slowly and painfully, I made peppermint creams, fudge and chocolate truffles and have made some ammaretti biscuits today. I paid the price, with back shoulders, neck and legs going into spasms so it was a hot bath and an early night for me and I slept for 14 hours, I am permanently exhausted, but I have just ordered some gift boxes from Amazon, so my homemade sweets will be boxed and given to my loved ones, so I have a nice sense of achievement.

Hi
I had to give up work in 2002, I was 52years old and absolutely loved my job as Health Care Assistant. I do not know how people with Fibro are able to go to work, what with Fibro Fog, Depression, CFS and all the pain. You need a medal.
Gentle Hugs
Linda
I gave up working in 2009 after collapsing at work after a 12hr shift. I hadn't planned on stopping altogether and went off sick thinking it was exhaustion. 28 weeks later I was even more unwell and was referred to a Rheumatologist with my symptoms and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME and RLS. It was quite a shock at the time and to be told I wasn't well enough to work again.
I loved my work in the care sector and still kid myself I could go back to it one day, the reality is that there is no way I could cope with the lifting and long hours regrettably.
