Hello, I was wondering if any of you was seeing an hypnotherapist through the NHS,I went to the pain clinic and they don't offer that service.

Is there any place in London that does?

Thank you

Hello Choupiette

Nice to meet you

I think it may depend on area I'm waiting for hypnotherapy of sorts through pain clinic in Nottingham. But what they recommend is that a hypnotherapist get you into deep relax state just before you would be hypnotised then she teaches you how to get yourself in deep relaxed state so when pain hits you can perform deep relaxation technique as it well known that anxiety increases pain . Maybe if your in LONDON RING ROUND FEW HOSPITALS IN YOUR AREA speak to pain clinic see what they offer I swapped from Derby pain clinic to nottingham as Derby had very little to offer for me. I had to speak to my gp to get referred to nottingham . Good luck I hope this helps as private hypnotherapy can be very costly . Accupuncture helped me to and was again offered by pain clinic .take care love squeák xx

Hi Choupinette

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? It is not something that I have come across but I wanted to wish you all the best of luck if you manage to get on a course or trial for this?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Probably not on the NHS as I do know that according to the NICE guidelines they must only use treatments that are scientifically 'proven' - and that rules out a lot of treatments that people actually find helpful. I practiced as an analytic therapist and know from my own experience as a patient how helpful that can be in working through past trauma - but the NHS cut it almost completely out of treatments offered so that now after being trained for four years there are no jobs for me. Crazy! My guess is that you will have to go privately - in London there shouldn't be any problem in finding someone. x
