Lump in throat hard to swallow

Iam seeing my doctor on monday , as ive had a jelly like lump underneath my adams apple , its not sore , but my throat feels as though its closing at times , does anyone else experience this .

my doctor has said in the past its the muscles in my throat go into spasm , I didnt mention the kump but I will now , very uncomforrable ! Hugs angie xx

I have had a lump in my throat since May 2014 and at first the GP told me it was a virus and prescribed penecillin. This did nothing. I then had a throat swab which showed nothing. I was sent to ENT and was told I have Sjorgens and gastric reflux and prescribed proton pump meds. These are also doing nothing. My throat feels like something stuck in it all the time and swallowing is getting more difficult. I find laying down in bed worse as it feels like my throat closing up and I get panic attacks because of it. Saw GP on Monday and requested scan on my throat as I believe it could be my thyroid (I also have symptoms and weight gain) but he seemed uninterested and said carry on with the meds as it is gastric reflux causing throat problem! Feel like Im banging my head on the wall. Sorry dont have an answer. Gentle hugs Joolz.x

Ty joolz for your reply , I will be seeing doc , next week , I know what you mean by banging our heads against a wall , there are so many horrible symptoms with this !

I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue and I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for. I have a similar issue and I suffer with a reflux disorder. I want to wish you all the best of luck with your GP for your appointment.

Hi. i also suffer from this I find it hard to swallow. It is horrible! I just live with it as it always seems to go away on it's own. the only problem is it keeps coming back.

I was taken yesterday by ambulance as the swallowing had become worse , I felt as though I was being strangled , I have been under alot of stress lately and have been flareing alot , I could just about lifr my head and neck , the lump they think is a mass like muscle , it zeemz to show more when I flare .

also being looked at is I have been bleeding , I thought it was my ibs but dr said I shouldnt bleed with that , so I must see my dr next week , what more with this illness can happen it has me every were now , big hugs , angie xx
