Hi all, I really need to find an advocate to help me fill in the awful p.i.p forms as I find it too much n don't know what to write. I live in North London and I only have 9 days left.... If any one has any advice on where I can get help quickly.

On a happier note I wish all the lovely members love light and healing xxxx

Hello, I would suggest CAB, they can help with all your forms. x

Thank you xx

Hello. i would suggest that you go to the cab as soon as possible. If they dont have an appointment free with an advisor within the next nine days, they can phone the DWP and ask for more time. Thats what they did with us when we went. We had wasted a lot of time waiting for our usual advisor with the council to call us back. She never did.

Have you seen the leaflets and guides produced by the organisation Benefits and Work? Find them at: benefitsandwork.co.uk. Another good idea is to get help from Citizens Advice - they have helped many of my RA friends and also Benefits And Work contributors. Send me a PM if you need any further help.

Hi

Good advice has already been given but you could also try Turn 2 us, i understand they are very wiling to help as are CAB.

I really struggled with the forms as well and did call DWP to ask for extra time they gave me an extra 10 days which really helped.

I must admit that i spent hours writing out what i wanted to say on a pad and just tried to think about how much Fibro had changed my life, alway's think of your worst day.

In the end i just picked up the horrible form and spent about 2 hours filling it in as honestly as i could and posted it as quickly as i could.

I ended up with the lower rate DLA and nothing for mobility but i asked them to re-consider, and with the help of a letter from my doctor i ended up with the highest mobility.

I wish luck and good health.

Hello Nelilove,

Please can I further suggest the following information from a previous post I wrote called 'Do you need an advocate?'

healthunlocked.com/fibroact...

I would also agree with other members about speaking to your local Citizen Advice Bureau too.

I wish you all the best with your PIP claim

The one that works for me is my local council's Welfare Rights Officer. She has helped me umpteen times with filling out the forms, sending them off and keeping in contact with me. I have to say, every time I've had a positive outcome. Good luck! XX

Hi all. Love, light and healing. I wanted to pop in and say a big thank you to all for all your great advice and support and being secure in the knowledge of you all being there makes it all seem less daunting. I found an advocate to help with the dreaded p.i.p book well I'm waiting for an appointment and followed the advice and got my daughter to ring p.i.p and get me an extension.

Thank you all so very much. I will keep you updated. And no doubt will seek help and support again.

Love, light and healing xxxx neli
