On 22nd August the consultant suggested physio to be organised via the GP. 8 week waiting list from my surgery. 5 weeks on phoned the physio - no referral sent; phoned the surgery - no letter from hospital! One of the doctors is calling me back at lunchtime so hopefully he can sort something out.

I am so sorry to read that, and I genuinely hope that you have ascertained some sort of success with this now? When I went to physio it took about 6 weeks from talking to my GP to actually seeing the physio herself. Which I thought was reasonable? It really sounds like you are going to be waiting much longer than this?

I sincerely hope that things get sorted quickly for you.

I spoke to the doctor yesterday very briefly! The letter had come through but referral not made! I know the local physio so will have a word and see what she can do.

How sad I feel about your situation. The delays can be so frustrating, especially when we are already in pain. I can only suggest that you remember my momma's words "you catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar" & "the squeaky wheel gets oiled".

That equates to be proactive: Call to followup on the status, call everyone involved, call frequently, and always be sweet about it!

Thanks. I will keep at it. I have been going to this physio for six years since she took over the practice so will speak to her. Just as well I contacted them yesterday as otherwise the referral would never have gone through. Needless to say no apology from the GP.
