Sorry to ask another question, but is hearing an issue for anyone with Fibro? My hearing seems to be getting worse, my other half can't believe how loud i need the tele!!!!
I blame everything on Fibro, but what if it isn't anything to do with it?????
I feel like i have the dr on speed dial nowadays.....believe i am close to being blacklisted

Strange you say that but I realise my hearing isn't what it was. I do suffer with alot of sinus problems and had put it down to that. I have the opposite problems with certain sounds and hear them acutely so much that is it almost a pain. I absolutely loathe being in a coffee shop where they use those noisy machines i literally have to put my hands over my ears.
One of the symptoms of Fibromyalgia is tinnitus (like a buzzing or ringing sound in your head, it's hard to explain) which could probably explain both your changes in hearing, as I would imagine it would make you more sensitive to some sounds (like the coffee machine), and the overall disruption would probably make it harder to pick certain sounds like dialogue (I know this is the case for me anyway, I always have to turn the TV up to hear what people are saying).
If you query up tinnitus with your GP I know there are things they can do to treat it, even if only to reduce it.
Hope this helps.

HI all I am like Fay with tinnitus, when I was at work if i was sat at one desk and the guy in front of me was having a conversation with the guy behind, I could not hear a word that they said.
On the other hand I used to love the radio and my CD player now They drive me round the bend. As does the washing machine, tumble dryer, Meg barking and I have to keep leaving the room when all the family are here together.
I cant follow their conversations anyhow, I just get real bad fog and end up shutting down.
I have had fibro diagnosed for about 5-6 years and since then I now wearing a hearing aid in my left ear. I have been told I have a significant loss and from where, why?? I am 51 years old and I don't go to concerts etc.
Thank you!!!! Such a relief to know i am not going mad! I am going to book myself a hearing test...can't believe i need one at the age of 33 but hey ho!!! And yes, i have no hope of keeping up with conversations anymore. As soon as more than 1 person starts talking....I might as well leave! I can't follow or keep up the conversation - brain just doesn't seem to be able to cope, so it shuts down.
Thank you all for responding - this Forum is a fantastic!
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I have tinnitus on occasions, and this plays havoc with my hearing. I think I am rather lucky however, as mine doesn't last too long.
This is very interesting - I am too wearing hearing aids for the past two years and have tinnitus - have had fibro for 30 years now - was diagnosed only four years ago. My age is 64, but thanks to LDN and low dose lithium orotate I am coping quite well - can sleep finally and the brain fog is not too bad. I also take no pain medication. I read this forum and my heart goes out to all fibromites - hope you are all having a better day today
Hi Chlobo I have a lot of sinus issues and put all of my hearing issues down to that also. The tinnitus for one. As for the hearing problems I find that I can hear noises that other people can't hear and that I struggle when there is to many noises going on. I get more muddled when there is to much going on around me and can't concentrate. Good Luck.x
Thank you all, not at work today - so so tired and achy - not like me to admit defeat but I have to say I am feeling better for resting. Had a call from the hospital today saying my neurologist is reviewing all my medications, will keep my fingers crossed!!!!
