Hi Granniescrochet

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way and I truly believe that fatigue is one of the worst symptoms of Fibro, as when it strikes it is a curse and a constant!

I have pasted you below an excerpt form our mother site FibroAction, and what it says about fatigue.

''Chronic fatigue is common with Fibro and this is often linked with the non-restorative sleep that is typical of Fibro. With this non-restorative sleep, a Fibro sufferer's brain tends to wake them up slightly every time they get into the deep sleep that is needed for physical rejuvenation. This can lead to more fatigue, more pain and other symptoms.1 12 The fatigue of Fibro is not like being a bit tired all the time: it can hit suddenly, leaving a Fibro sufferer almost unable to stand; it can be overwhelming, making it impossible to do anything at all; you can feel so tired that it seems impossible to even lift your head''.

Here is the link to the FibroAction page on Fibro Symptoms:

This may be something that you could discuss with your GP, as there are medications available to combat fatigue if your GP feels yours is serious enough to warrant them?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Granniescrochet, I have almost the exact same symptoms that you have. For a while there I was sleeping day and night, only to wake from my body aches. I would take a pain pill and a few hours later go back to bed. Many believe that Fibro is the results of adrenal fatigue so getting as much sleep as possible is important. As Ken mentioned, it seems that this condition prevents us from getting that deep sleep we all need. So I sleep when I am tired. You will find that some days you won't need as much sleep as other. But if I miss getting at least 8 hours I feel exhausted all day. Other days I can't get to sleep even though I'm tired. I know it sounds a bit strange. I am trying to eat right along with taking supplements. You should talk to a nutritionist about that. Don't just guess. Good luck.

Hi Granniescrochet! My symptoms are exactly like yours too! I could sleep all day as the tiredness is overwhelming so I just go with it if needs be, currently I'm just working and sleeping as that's all I can manage. I think I could manage more if the feet and legs wernt so painful!

Hi as well as fibro I have sleep apnea. Do you snore or wake with a sore throat? I can sleep up to 21 hours a day which is way excessive, but I have a rare form of sleep apnea as well as many other conditions. Rest as much as you need to,go see your G.P if you think you may have sleep apnea. The sooner things are sorted or treated the quicker the recovery.

Take care

Hi jezz21

Yes apparently I do snore well so my husband tells me but yes I do wake sometimes with a bit of a sore throat. Why do you ask I'm newly diagnosed with fibro is snoring part of it ?

Thanks Granniecrochet.
