Wen I I told hur about the shakeing av been having all over she put it down to stress even thou this has bn going on fro a wile av also had seizure' like symptoms during sleep ..another things that have been going on fibro wise ..ano that fibro can cause overlapping conditions ..av bn takin naproxen for a wile she has took me off them and gave me gabapentin to take witch I did lnite after a wile I felt totally spaced out and I don't feel rite at all ano it early days but has enyone had the same symptoms with this medication xx

What dosage of Gabapentin are you on?

It's quite well known to make some people feel drowsy.

It may well be that you need a lower dose until you get used to it.

Your body does become used to it after a while.

If it's helping with your pain, personally I'd say it's worth trying it for a while longer, but perhaps on a lower dose.

It definitely helps with my pain, but then of course we are all very different.

If you don't want to take it, then don't. Unfortunately it's very trial and error.

Hi other BM thanks for or reply she has gave me 300mg ..I will try again tonite but all take it just bf I go to bed am just glad I didn't take it yesterday afternoon..c who things go over the wkd with it xx

Hi Gapapntin can take a while to a climatise too

but you will soon settle down and feel the benefit..

How long have you been taking them for?

Hi gins I only started them lastnite but I felt awful I just didn't feel rite at all ..all take it tonite again just bf a go to bed c how it goes over the wkd xx

Hello Amanda2277,

I personally couldn't get on with Gabapentin for similiar reasons and I was prescribed Pregabalin instead which I have been on ever since.

You might have less symptoms as time goes on however if you are still experiencing problems it may be worth making another appointment to discuss other medication for Fibro.

Hi Amanda I had the same thing happen when I was given them so I didn't want to take them initially but when I got used to it it has been a great comfort for my fibro at least where the fibro pain is concerned if I cant sleep at night my joints are all aching I just take the dose im supposed to take and before I know it im relaxed enough to sleep. xx

I am so sorry to read that you have been left feeling so annoyed and exasperated by your GP visit. I hear of this so often on the forum.

I have read that Mdaisy has recommended that you ask about Pregabalin, this is a much better medication and my wife takes this for her MS. If the medication leaves you feeling fatigued there is a medicine called 'Symmetrel 100mg Capsules' that are an anti-fatigue medication, my wife also take these. I hope that this helps you a little.

I sincerely hope that you can get some resolution and relief to your situation.
