Hello Lynn. I have just recently had my bathroom adapted. They took out my bath and shower and put in a wet room shower. I live in Scotland A lady came out to the house to assess my needs and I had to then apply to our local council for a grant which allowed me to have an 80% grant and we paid the balance. Has been a very worthwhile job. Good luck and take care. Xx
You can also get your gp to refere you to an OT who will assess your needs. Re. Social housing, you will have to have a financial check still.
Hi Lynnit59
I think your best bet to getting your bathroom refitted to adapt to your health needs, is to go too your DWP office or an Adult Social Services Dept. and ask them if they can help you or maybe ask your Doctors on your next visit. I hope these suggestions will be of some help to you, ok. Good Luck.xx
