We had the storm this morning about 8. Sunshine now. I'll wait till it gets cooler before I check the cows, but here's some fluffies with that sunshine
They must have rumbled on up country to you, I knew they were coming as eyes started doing peculiar things late evening ...... Now it's sunny and I am feeling a bit better and hope you are enjoying your afternoon.

Yes thanks. Hope you are too. Skipped the showers in a climate change meeting - the irony wasn't lost. Got a new calf to look forward to. Hope they're by the fence as I don't want to provoke a new mum
Mr Badger are you a farmer ?
No, just part of a team of rangers.
Mum and baby fine but had a long walk to get to them, and as mum's back was towards me I had to circle around so as not to surprise her. She just ignored me
I am fascinated a ranger of what a is it a property for the NT? Do tell please?

Hampshire Wildlife Trust. Apart from 35 reserves across the county we manage land for other owners like Councils. One of mine is Winnall Moors. 149 acres of wetland being managed to return the habitats of years gone by. At the moment we have 43 cows. We have snipe, plovers, otters, water voles, and several fish returning in larger numbers so we must be doing something right. I can step out of my uninspiring flat and see the South Downs National Park and I'm on the edge of a large colony of pipistrelle bats. It doesn't get much better. Not the same as Dartmoor, but it does very nicely
It sounds amazing. The very thought of standing in the early evening when the bats come out and whiz about catching the little bugs. I love it! So in so many ways Badger you are truly blessed. I am sorry I did not respond sooner yesterday was quite a day on here
This new site can be annoying it posts before you are finished. So is it hard coping with fibro and being a ranger? I am nosey aren't I take care xgins
Hehehe. No problem, it's good to come across interested people as our whole planet is in such a mess.
It's easier than working. I can go at my own pace and stop as often and as long as I wish. I'm better qualified for rangering than I am at work - daft eh? It makes up for the rubbish I have to put up with the rest of the week. As I write this there's a blackbird collecting dinner for her babies just outside my window, and if I'm not up to it on any particular day it's not a problem, though if I had to frequently dip out of looking at the livestock I'd probably pack in that aspect.
Last October I spent a day with the County Council clearing trees that had fallen across a path, very rewarding.

Hi Foggy .sorry i am late. Got up this morning to a violent storm. Headache and trembling all over. I am not scared of storms so it is not fear but am still not back to normal I n heavy fog much to hubby and sons amusement. The freezer has been called the fridudu because i forgot half way through what it was called. Now I have just asked if some one could get the fish out of the tumble dryer and couldn t see why they were laughing. F.R.E.E.Z.E.R. IT IS CALLED A FREEZER. Roll on bed time Hugs sue xxx
CATegorically sublime!
I feel with you re the migraine mode: fighting one myself for the moment. The only thing that shortens it for me is Imigran injections: have you tried them? 'Luckily' it's been completely couded over over for a while here in Margate as well... Hope it will be nice again once I can 'see the light' ;-).
Big hug from the seaside
Keep up the great 'CApTions'!
Akela
PS - book idea, esp. if you love cats and their irresistible nature:
Title = 'PUSSY, for cats that should know better', by Steven Appleton (and others)
-> made as a 'Magazine for cats', with superb pics and articles (and of course all tom cats read it 'only for the articles') - you (and your cats) will be 'purring' all the way through it ;-))
PPS: this gave me the freat idea to get this book for a friend's birthday... and searching online, I noticed that Appleton made a similar 'Magazine for dogd', called 'Bitch: It's Bollocks and it's the Dog's'... Now I'll have to get that one as well, for my Sister
Hope some of you cat-dog lovers will find some 'pain-relief joy' in these books as well.
xx;--) A
Hi Akela, thanks for your response, I did use Imigran injections for quite some time, but because I was so 'out of it' with the migraine I often mucked the injection up, also I found that one of the side effects for me was a feeling of constriction round my throat which I didn't like at all. I now take rizatriptan (Maxalt) which does help if I get it in quickly enough. Having said that it still leaves me feeling like I've been run over by a steam roller, but at least the horrendous pain is much less.
If you still suffer yourself, it might be worth mentioning Maxalt to your GP as from what my GP has said it is a med the efficacy of which is very very good.
Thank you for your comment about the captions, I've been doing them every day for over a year now and people do seem to enjoy them, so they have become a permanent fixture, but sadly I let my unblemished record down the other day and forgot .......... now my record is tarnished
Foggy x
X thanks
