Hello rogerbear My symptoms took a sudden nose dive 24hrs after a flu jab. They were slowly getting worse anyway but after having the flu jab I was left in so much pain that I could not use my arms to get out of a chair, needed help to dress and was in so much pain in my arms I could not even pull the cover over me in bed. 2 months before I had been working and was looking for another job after being made redundant.

It took 2 -3 yrs for the flair to settle down and even now almost 4 yrs later my health has got nowhere near what it was pre jab.

Of cause There is no medical proof that the flu jab makes things worse and it could simply have been a coincidence. I will probably never know.

Hugs sue xx

hey maryrose thanks, Like me your symptoms got a lot worse after the 2011 jab I remember the government scaring everyone how it was going to be so bad thousands would die, in fact no one really caught swine flu and they admitted later that those who did found it no worse than a normal cold, how we were taken in by all the propaganda and scaremongering. Like me it's taken almost 4 years to get over the flare and I am still not as good as I was before it. All I got from the medics when I said it's the jab was scorn and laughed at but I believe it had something to do with it. I do know for sure on the continent it's caused narcolepsy in thousands children and they are claiming compensation mainly in Sweden, Iceland and Finland. Now I know what it contains I will never have another.

Hi rogerbear

I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing these issues and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your problems. I have a flu jab every year and have never had a single side effect from it! (Lucky I guess).

I have also had a pneumonia vaccination, as I suffer with COPD, and I was fine with this also.

I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for?

Ken

Hi Ken hows you?

I am like our friend Rogerbear. Even though my doctors have warned me that Getting the flu could be dangerous. I am just too blasted scared of suffering that again. I don`t get colds or flu and haven`t even had a cold for about 6yrs. I am willing to chance it.

Hugs to all Sue xx

Hi mayrose54

I am having a really good fatigue day today! I am only just beginning to feel awake and with it! I think it is awful when somebody can't have these kinds of immunisations as they can save lives under the right circumstances.

You would think in this day and age that alternatives would be available for you?

Take care

Hello my friend, I have given fuller details as to why I am so scared to A42h further down the thread. I think it may interest you.

sorry that you are having a bad fatigue day. funnily my fatigue is more like a heavy weight somewhere in my middle making walking very difficult cus I cant lift my legs and trying knocks me out of breath, but I rarley feel sleepy.Just heavy.

hugs to you sue xx

Hi Rogerbear,

I had never ever thought about the connection until now, how strange that you brought it up?! I was summonsed for the swine flu vaccination and I had no idea why because at the time I was fit and healthy and didn't fulfil any of the risk criteria. I remember asking the GP who administered it why I needed it, (she was a horrible woman, I believe she was sacked in the end), and just said I have no idea but think yourself lucky and show a little gratitude...

I guess now, looking back that was the period that I then became very unwell with Fibro and CFS. Whether the two are linked I could begin to guess, but certainly it was around that time that I became Ill and got worse ever since. Coincidence maybe?? Who knows....

Hello nice to meet you, In the past I have had a brain hemorage, multiple organ failure and pnumonia With the pnumonia ( excuse spelling today).I had to have a thoracotomy I am left with a scar from my shoulder blade curving around my back and ending under my left boob. Put them all together and the pain does not add up to the pain I had after the flu jab.

The worst was like having someone with two electrodes giving me one shock after another over the whole of my back and chest . The first time it happened it left me with no movement in my legs. It was the paramedics who pointed out that I was covered in bruises as though I had been beaten with a base ball bat, I was treated for muscle spasms and sent home. I suffered these spasms on and off for about 6 months. In between spasms the pain in my back and arms were so bad that I could not lift my arms enough to scratch my head. I needed help out of a chair, to get dressed and even to brush my hair Gradually the pain and spasms have eased but 4 yrs later I still have problems lifting my arms due to the pain ,

I am not saying that having flu is nothing to be sneezed at :) but to explain why I live in absolute terror of It happening again.

Hope you are having a good day. hugs sue xx

This is very interesting to me as I hadnt put two and two together before, my fibro didnt raise its ugly head before I had the swine flu jab . I remember that it left me with a hard bruised feeling in the arm and within weeks I was having a full blown flare. Unfortunately the night it started I was doing a night sit for a client and had to suffer till I could go off duty

. I was expected to go from this night sit to a twelve hour day shift and I had to phone the on call number to get my shift covered . Little did I know I would never return to my job. I had been working long shifts 12 days out of 14, just to make a living wage as a carer.

I had put my fibro down to the hellish time I was having at home (hence volunteering for the night sit) and also a viral infection I had had after the flu jab. I wonder now if the viral infection was actually a reaction to the jab?
