Hi shirl123

I am so genuinely sorry that you are feeling scared about this, and I will do my best to reassure you that you are not alone and I implore you to try and feel more optimistic about your long term health prognosis.

It sounds like you are having a Fibro Flare, and the best thing to do is after the bank holiday, go and discuss how you are feeling with your GP. It could be that you need to have some of your medications amended and have an increase in pain medications? It will also help your GP rule anything else out and keep them up to date with how you are getting on.

I do not know what medications you are taking, but sometimes the side effects can mimic the Fibro itself? And if this is the case talk to your GP and see what they can do to help alleviate this problem. Please be open and tell them exactly how you are feeling emotionally and reach out to them and ask for the help that you rightly need and deserve.

If your usual GP is not particularly Fibro friendly or appreciative, then make an appointment to see a different GP.

If you ever need to reach out on here, please feel free to PM me and as soon as I get online, I will always reply and that is a promise.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken x

Thank you for your kind words, my Gp practice are not fibro friendly, I only got diagnosed because of a locum.. I am only on co codomol for the pain and that does not help very much. Most days I can cope with the pain, but sometimes it just gets me down. I use to be so active but now I cannot even walk very far. I do try and stay positive. The consultant at the rhumatology dept was very understanding. I will go back and see my GP

HI shirl123 I now just what you mean at first that was my fear of ending up in a wheel chair but if one day that happens i will have to cope with it then as i have learned over the past few years its not worth worrying about what mite happen as it only adds to stress which causes more pain all i can say is don't worry about what may be just take one day as a time as for GP see how long the locum doctors their for as in most GP they can be there for a few months if the locum is still their go and talk to him about your fears wish you the bst fibro10

Hi sirl1 23, my name is roger. I am so sorry to read you are feeling so low. I have had FM for 11 years now and am sorry to say it doe's not get any easier over time. Not many GPs are fibro friendly, but it's only because they do not understand the condition. When I was first diagnosed, it was a case of " there is nothing more we can do, just get on with it ". Since then I moved to another area and every thing changed. I was referred to the " Min " in Bath. it is a rheumatology hospital. They are wonderful and well worth a visit if your GP will let you. I have to go for now, but if you would like to talk free to get back to me xx
