Hi there, I'm so sorry you have been caught by this scam company. This is something which has been going on for some time now, I had a similar experience with them about 18 months or so back. I eventually told them they would be receiving a letter from my solicitor to pursue fraudulent taking of funds from my bank and they pretty son reimbursed me and cancelled they direct debit which I hadn't given them permission to instate.

I think you have to be pretty tough with them and Royalspec is quite right in advising contacting your CAB, they will be up to speed with the latest situations with these scam companies.

I really hope you manage to get this sorted out :-)

Whoops meant to say ring them again and tell them you will reporting them Trading Standards Burro (sp?) and the Ombudsman. Contact your bank and ask them to block any further payments going out to this company. There is another post about this recently, which might help. Look up Nutri Berry scam, I think that may help

Spot on Foggy, and yes it's illegal but you have to prove it in court after a fight, so that's good advice to put the frighteners on them first. How's the doglets - and you?

the exact thing happen to me with colon cleansers and ketone products, supposedly a free trial....I don't think you will get your money back as I didn't and it's not classed as fraud....I know it's a big kick in the stomach but it's a lesson we both have learnt the hard way xx

I have also been stung by this, luckily I used an old bank account which I seldom use and as they have used my card instead of a direct debit I just don't put any money in it and don't get charged for bouncing. My card also runs out soon so they won't be able to use it any longer. So I did manage to get something useless for nothing, the bit that makes me feel bad though is that this illness and the side effects of the meds makes me fall for these scams in the first place.

Warm regards

Jo

I'm so sorry that you have been caught by one of these awful scams. They should be illegal and really need to be stopped!!!!!!

I experienced this about 10 years ago now... ANY product where you get a "free" trial but they take your card details for the postage costs read the small print very carefully...!! There in the EXTREMELY small print is this clause where they will take on the amount of £whatever every month thereafter. They state you can cancel "at any time" but don't tell you how and make this virtually impossible - with my own experience it took me nearly an hour on a premium rate number to cancel the "contract". I was kept waiting and waiting while a supervisor was called to "authorise the cancellation!!!!!"

Strangely enough my husband was nearly caught about 2 months ago when he said to me one evening that (whatever it was) was a "really good deal as it was only the postage to pay... ... ..." I immediately remembered my experience and advised he didn't touch this with a barge pole - he was surprised but on reading the small print found that indeed after the so called "free" trial an amount of £180 (what a HUGE amount too) would be taken every month - EVERY MONTH!!! :-/

Now I will NEVER EVER buy anything like this. Strangely enough I wanted to try the Raspberry Ketone diet pills but wouldn't buy them because the only ones I could find were under this type of scheme - did it actually work may I ask please? I have been unable to find any just purely to buy - they are ALWAYS under one of these post only to pay schemes, which make me extremely wary. You often find that pills, lotions & potions - things that women generally love are often available like this. Look at the active ingredients and Google them then find a product available on Amazon or somewhere that delivers the same benefits for a snip of the price they steal from you. (I don't feel that "steal" is too strong a word here!!) I can certainly site this as being true with some face cream I wanted to try recently. The 2 active ingredients were easily found in a cream available on eBay, Amazon and various outlets for no less than an eighth of the price they would have taken from my bank every month. These scams are outrageous.

As others have suggested the CAB may be able to advise, otherwise I'd approach your bank and ask if they can help you.

With every good wish. CM xx

See what NHS choices has to say about such things. Quite often companies use this sort of scam as the product has little or no scientific backing.

I've also just been reading their piece about so called Superfoods. I'll leave it at that. . . .

Hi Singlemumkerry

I am so sorry to read that you have been scammed out of your money in this way. Unfortunately as their address is a P O Box no. there is really very little chance in getting any redress to this issue. I have pasted you the web link for the GOV.UK Companies House below. They have all the listing of all the legitimate companies and businesses in the UK.

companieshouse.gov.uk/tools...

However, since it was a P O Box address, and this is just a post box savings system, whereby mail is collected from, I do not think any record of this will be held, I am so sorry to say. As these mail addresses will hold mail for hundreds, or possibly thousands of mail order companies.

I want to wish you all the best of luck with any effort you make to try and retrieve your money.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Tell trading standards, the more people who complain the more resources they can put into it.

Hi I ordered Nutriberry slim and vita cleanse from Health Essentials with the address in Linlithgow in May on a 14 day trial. I received 1 bottle of each product only and £239 was taken out of my account I did not check my bank statement. I received my Bank statement for June and I actually looked at this one and I found £343 had been taken out of my account. I tried to e-mail the company it was returned not known I tried phoning the line was dead so I went to the Bank and told them I was a victim of a scam and they said they would block anymore transactions but I would not get my money back. My husband has written to the company but I donot think I will get a response
