What is Cymbalta used for - is it better than pregabalin.Weight gain getting me down

Hi sparky, it's duloxetine made to treat depressive and anxiety disorder, pregbalin which is the sister tablet to gabapentin is to treat pain especially the nerve endings, I take gabapentin, I too have put on weight, I use to be 81/2stone I'm now 10 stone and no I don't like it, but I keep telling myself which is worst the pain or the weight and I think I go for pain every time, so I have continued with gabapentin I have my down moments when trying my clothes on, but I'm trying to keep away from sweets n particular jellie babies, and if I feel peckish I munch on a raw carrot, and I eat Melba toast, I think I've lost a pound lol ...keep smiling...sending you gentl hugs...Dee xx

Cymbalta is fluoxetine. This is an SSRI anti-depressant that also has pain relieving effects. It is often combined with Pregabalin or Gabapentin to maximise the pain relief for fibro sufferers.

Hi, I take Cymbalta for my Fibro, it has really helped manage my pain. It is licensed for Fibro so at least there have been clinical trials. It works differently to SSRI's and rebalances different neurotransmitters.....give it a go I felt better within two weeks....
