Many thanks for that, have just read it and it was very useful.I myself have gained weight I believe through the anti depressant I've been on for 9 years now.Ive just rejoined slimming world where I lost weight before and have lost 3 pounds in my first week which Iam very proud of! Xxx

Well done haribo. Just a little word of caution. I lost three stone with Slimming World a few years back but had real problems with my IBS. I've since found out that aspartame is a major culprit for IBS and it's thought to contribute to fibro so I'd recommend you look for products/sweeteners containing one of the new natural alternatives like stevia. Good luck with the weight loss - a great start x

Very interesting! I was given the book on the 5:2 diet to read last year and the doctor who divided it made a lot of sense. The foods they recommend you eat are very similar to the ones in the article. Thought I'd give it a go as it was supposed to improve cognitive function as well as shed weight and, at the time, I was having so much trouble with fibro fog. I found it really helped for me - lost weight and very little fog or suddenly losing words etc. I checked with my GP before starting and she was enthusiastic so I'd recommend anyone else thinking of trying any eating plan checks to ensure it won't interfere with meds working etc. Also wouldn't recommend trying 5:2 or anything else without proper research. When I was reading about it I came across so many examples of people who'd heard the gist of the idea and were living on crap with no nutritional value in an effort to keep their calorie count down and were setting themselves up for health problems.

I'm almost certain that my weight gain is due to taking Paroxetine as I was a skinny thing before then. Factor in that I'm going through the change (I think) and that makes it even more difficult to lose weight :-(
